Lyra Valenza is the project of Jens Konrad Barrett and Hjalte Lehmann, who've been putting out music since 2017. Having explored a variety of different styles and aesthetics over the years, they have since established themselves as a unique act in the contemporary electronic scene due to their singular and catchy blend of genres such as jungle, trance and techno – distilled into their very own sound. That Lyra Valenza’s sound is truly special is also evident from the recognition they’ve received from a diverse field of other acclaimed artists. Through the years, they’ve been supported by the likes of Caroline Polachek, Bill Kouligas, Courtesy and Rroxymore, who have played their music on different occasions. Their releases and high-energy live performances have also resulted in them being selected for the prestigious SHAPE Platform in 2020 as well as gaining them an ongoing residency at LYL Radio with their own label, Petrola 80. In addition to their radio show at LYL, they’ve also made mixes for, among others, Resident Advisor, NTS Radio, Rinse FM and Inverted Audio.

2023 saw the release of their long-awaited debut album, Low Gear No Pressure, which was released on Petrola 80, after having put out music on compilations through internationally acclaimed labels such as Courtesy's imprint Kulør, Opal Tapes and Posh Isolation. The album is a culmination of the many musical aesthetics on their previous releases and shows the group’s ability to create both energetic and addictive bangers as well as more laidback club tracks, always with a clear understanding of the synergy between the different compositions. Lyra Valenza is currently working on an ambitious international project, which is to be announced in late 2023, as well as two new releases. The duo is available for both DJ- and live-sets in 2024.

It's time for our very own Lai Raw to show off his skills as a music selector, & conaisseur. Time for him to grace us with his Mixed Feelings. 

His set starts of on a little more darker side and then transoforms into a blossoming flower just like the effortless transition from winter, to spring, to summer - emotionally uplifting you with timeless music from the mid 90's to the present day including two of his own.

With him being one of our newest friends to be part of our collective, we are very happy to finally have him onboard the voyage with this superb mix.

The last few months have certainly been shaped by mixed feelings and intense emotional states in my life. While we are finally reaching real summer weather in Berlin I am ready to shed the winter haze with this mix and reflect. Deep, introspective ambient & electronic sounds also generally shape my own style and I love creating moody playlists to walk around to and zone out and let my subconscious lose. That is why I tried starting with some ambient and some of my own field recordings to set the mood before diving into some breaky UK bits until reaching classic house and dub techno territory.

"I wanted this mix to be an ode to the breaks/electro/electrohouse records from the late 90s/early noughties that i’ve been obsessed with recently, as well as throwing in a couple of tracks that have been staples in my sets this past year. Lots of fun, high energy bizniss. I would say try whacking it on while on a journey to somewhere fun, or while banging out some work. Listen to it anywhere really, just maybe not while trying  to meditate or go to sleep (but hey whatever floats your boat)"

London based producer, DJ & label boss @papanugs has a serious obsession with  late 90s/early 2000s tech & electro house, all the way to modern day bass driven & progressive. He oscillates between all these, whilst still managing to stay true to UK scene and sound from which he came.
