Born in Paris, France, Sébastien was obsessed with Funk & Soul music from an early age, especially classic 70s vocal numbers. From there, he moved into original Hip-Hop and Reggae, but Funk and R&B were ominant where he grew up and played everywhere. In the late 80s, Sébastien was a member of a Parisian Sound collective called ‘Jungle Sound System’ playing Jamaican vinyl releases ahead of the curve. Travel then opened up Sébastien’s musical tastes even further as he discovered high-energy, joyful scenes including Afro-Cuban, Samba, and Zouk. 

Fast forward a few years, and that musical history has turned into a production career. Since 2018, he’s released a stream of edits and reworks that take classic songs & enhance them with equal parts passion & modern production techniques. And, as his DJ and production name suggests, FunkeeSounds focuses on Funk, Soul, Disco & Nu-Disco. And he has one ambition – to translate the feel-good factor from his music to his listeners via the dancefloor. 

In 2020, Sébastien signed @PuzzleProjectsMusic record label, his debut release ‘In the Mood’ hitting the @Juno-Download N°1 spot & N°9 in the @Traxsource in the Soul/Funk/Disco charts. This followed with the feel-good disco tune ‘Waves of the Time.’ Summery and full of sunshine beats - the perfect blend between disco’s roots and the nu-disco sound of producers like Miguel Campbell. 

April 2021 saw Seb follow the theme of his feel-good funky music with his brilliant debut EP 'City Lights’ which like all of his releases has seen huge support from leading DJs globally.

The rest of 2021 & 2022 sees Sébastien work on fully original music for vinyl and digital release on @PuzzleProjectsMusic.

 D.J. / Remix & Music producer / Sound Designer, Doctor Soul started to play music during his childhood days. In the 80’s he learned Bass and played in Indie Soul & Funk bands for the local scene. He was an active collector of LP’s and 12 – inch in Rock/ Jazz Funk/ Fusion/ Soul/ Funk/ Disco & Brazilian bands.
In 1987  he started Dj’ing in parties as well as on Radio Shows in the Bordeaux area, at that time the Acid Jazz phenomenon started to become the big thing. He became a professional Dj in the early 90’s and he explored more into Hip Hop, with fellow Rap acts such as “Iam” among others as well as in Soul Funk music and New Jack Swing…
In 1993, he recorded and co-produced his first track “Un Style Funky” on the now defunct “Double Zero” label under a Funk & Hip Hop collective and in 1994 he released “La Preuve Par Funk” in the Acid Jazz/ Funk genre. Doctor Soul became more involved in the soul scene and did the warm up for live bands such as the British combo “Izit” he also held a residency in a club (Le Senechal) in Bordeaux from 1994 to 1998. Many years later he held a residency from 2013 till 2014 at “Luncha” in Paris. Meanwhile, being close to the Bordeaux Hip Hop, Soul & Funk scene he collaborated with Tribal Jam wich was the first french New Jack Swing band.
On the musical production side, he has collaborated with many artists and bands from diverse genres even in Jazz, bringing production remixes for the likes of legendary Tania Maria, Jeff Cascaro, Mandoo & Interview to name just a few!
His own musical releases are deeply rooted in disco and funk territory with a modern sonic production touch that can grab attention from the younger generation, as well as from the elder who like to be reminded of the 80’s dance floor culture.
Since 2018 he has been hosting a monthly show on RapTz Radio and on the late night dream.com while doing Dj sets for The House Theory Radio Show, The Midnight Riot Radio, and Disko Knights.
DoctorSoul´s tracks are released on the London based MIDNIGHT RIOT record label, the Berlin based TOO SLOW TO DISCO record label and have reached many times the #1 places in worldwide Disco charts. 
They are  played by numerous very famous known DJs around the world such as: DJ Supermarkt, Ashley Beedle, Lenny Fontana,Mannix Kling, The House Theory Team, DJ White, Tony Griffin, Disko Knight, Humberto Galvàn, Crème De Coco, Jack Tennis, Ursula 1000, Yam Who?, ChuggingEdits, Limpodisco, Ruff Diamond, Disco Daze, Lego Edit, or Rob Hardt from The Cool Million team…

House and disco producer/editor/DJ from London.

Based in Lille (Northern France), Briak is influenced by soul-disco-funk and artists such as Larry Levan, Dave Lee or Dimitri From Paris. His passion for this music has pushed him, for the past ten years, to re-edit and make his own versions of disco tracks… which has allowed him to release some...
