We're proud to present to you: Vibin' out.

It's the first finished collaboration between Novy and Skyfade. Normaly both of us listening, playing and performing and making music in our home genre Drum and Bass. But that never stoped us to try out new things and genres. Maybe thats one reason why this is our first ever finished collab together.

We recorded "Vibin' out" excactly one year ago. To match the vibe of the Tune we wanted to release it in the colder winter months. So we waited for a year now, as we didn't wanted to rush things back then. As time passes, of course, we tried some edits to this tune, so somewhere on Skyfades PC hides a summer version of this tune. But the summer one never catched the vibe of the original winter themed version. 

Oh, and whats up with the chair in the middle of nowhere? We'll it may be kinda obvious, but the chair, for us, is the perfect methaphor of vibing out(side)

Deep beneath the icy surface of the planetoid’s frigid oceans slumbered an extraterrestrial behemoth, the progenitor from which a range of species sown across the galaxy’s furthest reaches had been sown. Its hulking cartilaginous form had spent eons there in the darkness where no light could fall, warmed and nourished by the geothermal vents that spewed forth the vital gasses of the planetoid’s molten core. Securing the domains of its progeny across galactic space had been a monumental endeavour even for a primordial creature such as itself, and thus in stasis it had lain for millennia, an ancestor forgotten and a creator unknown.

The creature had been roused by the tectonic shifting of the planetoid’s crust, a clocklike pattern that operated on a scale of ages incomprehensible to any mortal being. A full cycle had passed in the shifting of the continental plates upon which it lay, and the great MANTA was stirred by their rumbling alarm. As it awoke, the first flap of its outstretched fins formed a vortex of whirling water amidst the oceanic depths, and far above the oceanic surface ice began to crack under this distant pressure before shattering into shimmering shards that glistened in the blue light of the planetoids nearby neutron star. From the gaping maw of this vortex, the great MANTA emerged, its undulating wings whipping the winds into a monstrous gale as it took to the skies. With an otherworldly shriek, the ancient beast shot forth into the skies above, dissappearing INTO THE NIGHT of the endless space from whence it had came.

Some songs aren’t born all at once. They unfold slowly, like a thought that keeps tapping on your shoulder.

Final Lap was like that for me. It started in the quiet, late-night rabbit holes of sampling, obsessed with the human voice, completely infatuated by how Bobby McFerrin could turn air into feeling.
I found a moment of his, raw and echoing in an arena. Sampled it. And it stuck.

For months, the track lived in instrumental form, no words, just emotion trying to find its shape.

Fast forward, and in comes the incredible Nina Arya. She wrote a verse. I answered with a verse. And suddenly, the song had a heart.

Now it feels like a conversation.
A distant duet, almost,
caught in a moment where everything could fall apart or take flight.

“Out of reach, but I still taste the ash.”

That last stretch.
