"Surrender" Ecstatic Dance Corfu

I recorded this set on 10/13/2024 at Arillas Soundgarden in Greece, the mecca of ecstatic dance. I had already prepared another set, but 2 days before I found this set too dark and sad... So I prepared a new set with the intention of making a bigger change in my life and overcoming my own depression and sadness of the past year. I decided to play a “best of” my sets that I played in the past year, because while playing and dancing ecstatic dances, I mostly go through my dark and sad emotions and turn them into joy and happiness by the end of the dance. In this set I also started using stems, which was a wonderful opportunity to mix a techno track with a beatbox track from Singapore in a way that is only possible with stems.

I uploaded it 4 weeks later and I can tell you: I managed to get my life mostly out of my depression...thanks to the decision to get up emotionally with the help of this set!!!

I hope you will also find joy and happiness in listening and dancing to this set !

"Hakuna Matata" Ecstatic Dance Corfu

On Sunday the 08.12.204 i played a special “get ready to christmas” ecstatic dance set in the cosy & warm Tree-Temple of Soundgarden!
An energetic Ecstatic Dance set, infused with inspirations and subtle quotes from beloved Christmas carols. Prepare for a high-energy journey that blends festive melodies with vibrant beats, igniting the dance floor and celebrating the christmas spirit.

In my German tradition, the Advent season is a cherished time to prepare for Christmas. Each Sunday in December, another candle is lit on the Advent wreath. This Sunday marks the second Advent, symbolized by two candles glowing. By the fourth Sunday, all four candles are lit, signifying the approach of Christmas. Advent creates a warm and festive atmosphere, gradually building anticipation for the holiday.
As shown on image, this tradition is symbolized by the stag’s antlers, which represent the Advent wreath. This sunday, two of the four candles are illuminated, reflecting the special significance of the second Advent.

This is my birthday concert I played with 12 friends at the opening of my Arillas-Soundgarden.

It was a magical day and a concert full of intensity, beauty, and deep connection. I am so grateful to have such incredible musicians as friends and to have had the honor of singing and drumming with them.

One of the most touching moments for me was in the second half, when we communicated only through our drums on stage – in a wonderful, intuitive connection. A moment where everyone put their instruments aside, and we all drummed together. Pure energy, pure unity!

It’s absolutely worth taking half an hour to experience this unique, high-quality concert.

This very tribal ecstatic dance set I recorded on the 22.03.2025 @ LovEcstatic Dance Paris - Célébration du Printemps. It was one stop on my „Love Yourself - new song release tour 2025“ through Europe. I played in 2 month 16 Ecstatic Dances in 15 different Dance Communities and I drove more than 10.000 km with the mobile home I rented for the tour. It was a journey of so much fun and deep connections with so many beautiful dancers and space holders of ecstatic dance - with always unique approaches of space holding and community energies. Ecstatic Dance Tour 2025

I played this set on the 27.07.2025 at Arillas-Soundgarden/Corfu/Greece.
I’m shaping ecstatic dance as a meditative dance journey, guiding people into deep states of inner connection through my DJ sets. This goes against the current trend in ecstatic dance, where DJs aim for bigger events with hundreds of people dancing more like a conscious rave — electronic and organic sounds, but more of a party vibe without alcohol. In such large crowds, the sense of intimacy, connection, and meditative depth often gets lost. In contrast, my sets are designed as emotional, inward journeys that foster real presence and connection between participants.
In this set i focused on surprising soundscapes, classic music/instruments and a tribute to Ozzy Osborne, who passed away 5 days before i played this set.

"Inner & Outer Connection" Ecstatic Dance Corfu

I played that electronic/techno set at our yearly "hidden" beach rave on corfu on the 06.09.2025.
I played at around 1:45-3:30 am. As usual I played some experimental tracks ... also here I like to play multi genres ...
I want to thank all who organized the rave and all the locals who came to the rave. We had an amazing "blood full moon" and more than 200 people at this small beach.

Playfully Open Heart:

I played this set yesterday on the 25.09.2025 at Arillas-Soundgarden/Corfu/Greece.
In this set i focused on open the hearts of the dancers and to lead them into a playfulness dancing. At the opening of the set, Moira Lou performed some beautiful songs from her and I had the pleasure to sing with her. We failed in recording the live played opening concert, so I added her song "free" wich she also performed live at the beginning of this DJ set.
I’m shaping ecstatic dance as a meditative dance journey, guiding people into deep states of inner connection through my DJ sets. This goes against the current trend in ecstatic dance, where DJs aim for bigger events with hundreds of people dancing more like a conscious rave — electronic and organic sounds, but more of a party vibe without alcohol. In such large crowds, the sense of intimacy, connection, and meditative depth often gets lost. In contrast, my sets are designed as emotional, inward journeys that foster real presence and connection between participants. 

To create a ecstatic dance set is always a longer process of integrating my actual emotions …

"Playfully Open Heart" Ecstatic Dance Corfu

Lose Yourself – in Love

This set was born under the stars at the season-closing Ecstatic Dance at Soundgarden, Arillas – Corfu, Greece.

Each time I create a set, I begin with an intention - a vibration, a prayer in motion. It’s my way of tuning into what life is whispering through me at that moment. When you dance to my music, you’re not just hearing sounds - you’re feeling the echoes of what has been moving in my heart and soul. For this one, the intention was different. It wasn’t about reflecting a passing emotion - even though joy has been flowing strongly in me lately. It was meant as a musical & emotional mirror for the entire year at the Soundgarden - a year of deep dances, laughter, tears, silence, and connection.

The Soundgarden is more than a place to me. It’s a living field of energy -  a sanctuary for movement, healing, and awakening. The Ecstatic Dances we share there are not just events… they are ceremonies of freedom and remembrance.
This set carries the essence of that journey -  weaving together melodies and rhythms that have accompanied us through the season. Earlier this year, while in Bali, I created a track called “Love Yourself”, a mantra in sound and an anchor for my creative path.

Now, as the circle closes for this year, a new intention arises:
Lose Yourself – in Love.

May this music guide you to surrender, to dissolve the edges of the self, and to remember - we are all dancers in the great rhythm of Love.

"Lose Yourself - in Love" Ecstatic Dance Corfu

I played this Ecstatic Dance set that i named “Rāga of Tusk and Antler” on my Europe & Africa 2026 tour.

This carefully crafted journey weaves together deep, grounding rhythms and subtle, listening melodies. Inspired by the archetypal qualities of the Elephant and the Deer, the set explores the meeting point between weight and grace, strength and sensitivity, movement and stillness.

Drawing from classical music, ritual soundscapes, organic textures and powerful electronic grooves, i created a coherent emotional arc. The music unfolds as a living soundscape, inviting dancers into presence, release and embodied awareness.

“Rāga of Tusk and Antler” is designed as a full Ecstatic Dance journey — opening with grounding and spaciousness, building into dynamic intensity, and resolving into a calm, integrative closing with a wonderful prayer.

“Love is now”

This set Ecstatic Dance set was born at the season-opening on the 04.04.2026 at Soundgarden, Arillas – Corfu, Greece.

This set was born out of a very special moment in time.

After weeks of heavy weather, rain, and even landslides, something shifted. Just a few days before the beginning of the season, the storm finally gave way to stillness. The sky turned a deep, endless blue, the sun was warm and present, there was no wind at all, and the sea became completely calm - flat, quiet, and peaceful after so many restless days.

Throughout the winter, we had been dancing indoors in the Tree Temple - held in a more intimate, protected space, rooted deeply in our community. This gathering marked a beautiful turning point: it was the first dance we could finally hold outside again, under the open sky.

I played and live recorded this set as DJ SpaceDeer during our Sunday morning Ecstatic Dance on the 04.04.2026 in Arillas, at the Soundgarden. It was not just another gathering, but the opening dance of the new season - and at the same time, the transition from our winter sanctuary into the official public season here on Corfu.

You could feel this shift in every layer of the dance. From the closeness of winter into openness. From the familiar circle into a wider field, welcoming new people, new energies, and new beginnings.

The day before, I had spent several hours sitting by the ocean, simply absorbing that gentle, sun-filled energy. There was a deep sense of relief, of arrival, and of gratitude. It felt like nature itself was exhaling. This is exactly the space from which I created and played this set.

The dance itself was truly special. So many beautiful souls from our community came together, along with new faces, and there was a shared feeling of warmth, connection, and celebration. It felt festive in the most sincere and heartfelt way - like a collective opening into a new chapter.

The music carries this energy: soft, loving, and peaceful, with moments that feel almost ceremonial. A quiet celebration, a welcoming of the season, of light, beauty, and togetherness.

For me, this set is a tribute - to the magic of Corfu, to our community, and to all the dancers who made this moment so alive and meaningful. Many of you have truly touched my heart.

I invite you to listen not just with your ears, but with your whole being. Let it be something you receive, something you gently step into.

This is not just a set.
It is the opening of a season, captured in sound.

Dark Minimal Techno Flow

I played this “Dark Minimal Techno Flow” set at the Ecstatic Dance Gathering at Le Domaine du Balbuzard in France during the Saturday Night Sober Rave.

It was my very first Silent Disco DJ Battle – and what an incredible experience it was to perform on stage together with DJ Soph 💚 and DJ Jocan ❤️!!!

Seeing more than 300 dancers moving through the darkness wearing three different colors of glowing headphones was a truly emotional and unforgettable moment for me.

And watching dancers switch from my blue channel to green or red was definitely an interesting experience for my DJ ego 🥲 – which made it all the more rewarding whenever the number of blue headphones started growing again. 😅

I played this set at Ecstatic Dance Corfu on July 19, 2026.

This Ecstatic Dance set is a journey through joy, depth, and surprise. My intention was to create a genuine feeling of lightness and well-being while embracing the full spectrum of emotions.

Even the darker moments are there for a reason - they remind us that we can feel good not only in the light, but also by fully embracing our deeper, heavier emotions. Every emotion has its place on the dance floor.

Expect unexpected twists, surprising track selections, and smooth, high-quality transitions that keep the journey flowing from beginning to end.

“I Feel Good” is more than just the title of this set. It’s also the state I’ve been living in for the past few months, and I’m grateful to share that feeling with all of you.

“I feel good” Ecstatic Dance Corfu

I played this Ecstatic Dance set on the 02.08.2026 at my Arillas Soundgarden on Corfu.

Like every Sunday, I felt deeply grateful to see so many beautiful people gathering to dance, connect, and celebrate life together. Thank you to everyone who continues to co-create this magical space.

For this dance journey I was inspired by the beautiful French song L’Éternel Été by Ezechiel Pailhès and by the feeling that there is something within us that remains untouched by time. Even though we know that death, change, and impermanence are part of life, there is a place inside us where beauty never disappears. A place where life keeps blossoming again and again. A place that neither coincidence nor fate can ever truly destroy. Our lives are timeless - like the eternal summer.

I wanted this journey to explore both the depth and the playfulness of being human, gently reminding us that beneath all change, there is a place where beauty, love, and life never cease to exist.

Some tracks invite us into stillness, while others celebrate our wonderfully imperfect nature. One of my favorites is “I Want to Meditate But I Can’t” - a humorous reminder that we’re all beautifully human. We want to be enlightened… yet sometimes we simply crave chocolate ice cream, sugar, distraction, or just the joy of being alive. And that’s perfectly okay.

Another highlight is “Dance Lessons.” Watching everyone laughing, smiling, and completely letting go during that track was pure joy. Moments like these remind me that healing doesn’t always happen through seriousness. Sometimes it happens through laughter and having fun together.

The set unfolds through long, flowing tracks that intentionally create the feeling of an endless journey - without rushing, allowing space for emotions to arise, settle, and transform. I wanted the music itself to reflect the feeling of an eternal summer: spacious, timeless, and gently unfolding.

Normally Ecstatic Dance is an only through music guided meditation. In this set I choosed for the first time to close the dance with a meditation track that guide by spoken words. They slowly repeats a simple sequence of affirmations:

Light before me. Light behind me. Light to my left. Light to my right. Light above me. Light below me. Light in me. Light in my surrounding, Light to all, lLight to the universe.

Love before me. Love behind me. Love to my left. Love to my right. Love above me. Love below me. Love in me. Love in my surrounding, Love to all, Love to the universe.

Peace before me. Peace behind me. Peace to my left. Peace to my right. Peace above me. Peace below me. Peace in me. Peace in my surrounding, Peace to all, Peace to the universe.

May this set remind you that no matter what life brings, there is always a place within you where the sun never stops shining.

Dance Is Healing

I wrote this poem for my Europe & Africa Ecstatic Dance Tour 2026.

Before every Ecstatic Dance on this journey, I stood in silence and read these words before the first note of music began.

The poem is more than an introduction. It is a reflection of my personal philosophy of Ecstatic Dance.

For me, Ecstatic Dance is not about performing, looking good, or dancing in a particular way. It is a moving meditation - a journey through sound, body, emotion, connection, and silence.

I believe that healing begins the moment we stop trying to become someone else and allow ourselves to fully be who we are. Every emotion is welcome. Every movement is enough. There is nothing to prove and nothing to achieve.

In my journeys, music becomes a space where the body can remember what the mind has forgotten. Through grounding, release, playfulness, connection, love, and finally stillness, we gradually return to ourselves.

The deepest transformation often doesn’t happen during the dance itself, but in the silence that follows. When the music has faded, something continues to move within us. The body integrates. The heart opens. The dance continues inside.

This poem is an invitation.

An invitation to trust your body.
To let go of judgment.
To embrace both your light and your shadows.
To discover that, at some point, you are no longer dancing.

You become the dance.

May these words accompany you on your own journey.

La danse est guérison

Je l’ai écrit ce poème en anglais pour ma Ecstatic Dance tournée Europe & Afrique 2026.

Tout au long de cette tournée, j’ai participé à plusieurs Ecstatic Dances en France et j’ai eu la joie de jouer sur deux grands festivals français. Pour ces événements, j’ai traduit ce poème en français afin de pouvoir le partager avec le public avant chaque danse.

Avant chaque Ecstatic Dance de cette tournée, je me tenais en silence et lisais ces quelques mots avant que la première note de musique ne résonne.

Ce poème est bien plus qu’une simple introduction. Il reflète ma philosophie personnelle de l’Ecstatic Dance.

Pour moi, l’Ecstatic Dance n’a rien à voir avec la performance, l’apparence ou une manière particulière de danser. C’est une méditation en mouvement - un voyage à travers le son, le corps, les émotions, la connexion et le silence.

Je crois que la guérison commence au moment où nous cessons d’essayer de devenir quelqu’un d’autre et nous autorisons simplement à être pleinement nous-mêmes. Chaque émotion est la bienvenue. Chaque mouvement est suffisant. Il n’y a rien à prouver et rien à accomplir.

Dans mes voyages musicaux, la musique devient un espace où le corps peut se souvenir de ce que le mental a oublié. À travers l’ancrage, le lâcher-prise, le jeu, la connexion, l’amour, puis le retour au calme, nous revenons progressivement à nous-mêmes.

La transformation la plus profonde ne se produit souvent pas pendant la danse elle-même, mais dans le silence qui lui succède. Lorsque la musique s’est éteinte, quelque chose continue de bouger en nous. Le corps intègre. Le cœur s’ouvre. La danse continue à l’intérieur.

Ce poème est une invitation.

Une invitation à faire confiance à votre corps.
À laisser tomber le jugement.
À accueillir autant votre lumière que vos ombres.
À découvrir qu’à un moment donné, vous ne dansez plus.

Vous devenez la danse.

Que ces mots vous accompagnent dans votre propre voyage.

Un Poème de SpaceDeer - La danse et gerison

I developed this Ecstatic Dance set especially for two very special occasions: The Ouest Ecstatic Festival in France and my 200th Ecstatic Dance at Arillas-Soundgarden in Corfu, Greece.

This recording is the French version, with some different tracks for the french festival comunity. I played this set live at the Ouest Ecstatic Festival 2026 in the beautiful countryside of Loire-Atlantique near Nantes in western France. When i played the set in Corfu i read my poem in english.

It is already the second festival I’m playing in France this year, and I feel deeply grateful for the connection I’ve found with the French Ecstatic Dance community. It is such a warm, joyful and open-hearted community - spiritual, but at the same time beautifully down to earth. Even at these big festivals, there is a wonderful feeling of family.

It is truly an honor, a joy and a blessing for me to be invited to play here - and to feel that the French dance community connects so deeply with my music.

For my bookings in France, I translated my own poem “Dance Is Healing” into French: “La danse est guérison.” Reading my own poem in French during the set was quite a challenge for me - but it also made this journey very personal and special.

And later in the set, this philosophy returned in another form.

The most meaningful track of this journey for me was “Pour aller danser” by Lisette Lombé & Cloé du Trèfle.
It is part of “Brûler Danser”, which began as an electronic stage performance bringing together slam poetry, dance and electronic music.
For me, this piece goes right to the heart of my own philosophy of Ecstatic Dance.
“Brûler Danser” follows Remontada on a journey through struggle, injustice and deep wounds towards reclaiming herself. And movement becomes part of this reconquest. Through dance, she reconnects with her body, her strength and her aliveness.

Out of pain comes movement.
Out of struggle comes energy.
And dance becomes a path towards resilience, liberation and hope.

That is exactly what “Dance Is Healing” means to me.

Dance is not about pretending that pain does not exist. Sometimes we dance exactly because it exists.
And sometimes, through movement, music and connection, we can begin to transform it.

Dance is healing.

200th Ecstatic Dance & Ouest Ecstatic Festival 2026

🌻 Sacred Wedding Ceremony - Larissa & Tristan ❤️

On Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, Larissa and Tristan celebrated their Sacred Wedding Ceremony at my Arillas-Soundgarden on Corfu. As the closing part of this beautiful ceremony, I had the honor of creating and playing an Ecstatic Dance especially for them.

During the ceremony, Larissa and Tristan shared their deeply touching life and love story with all of us in a very open and emotional way. Listening to their journey and witnessing the way they shared it touched me deeply and gave the whole ceremony an incredible emotional depth.

The day before the wedding, they gave me the playlist for their ceremony, which I was also accompanying as their sound technician. The music followed their entire ceremonial journey - the arrival of the bride and groom, the cacao ceremony, different rituals and emotional moments, all the way to the closing circle under the Tree of Life, under the Flower.

Listening to their music inspired me deeply. I decided to take the emotional and thematic journey they had created for their wedding ceremony and weave it into the Ecstatic Dance journey I created for them.

This gave the set a very festive and ceremonial character, with many strings, violins and classical elements. But the journey also becomes wild, powerful and playful - because this wildness is also part of Larissa and Tristan.

The Ecstatic Dance became the final part of an incredibly beautiful ceremony and community experience. And this journey went very, very deep - as almost all of my Ecstatic Dance journeys do. It became an emotional experience of celebration, connection, love, wildness and surrender.

Larissa and Tristan loved the journey so much that they asked me to play exactly the same set again the following morning at our weekly Sunday Ecstatic Dance at the Soundgarden.

This time they danced their wedding journey again surrounded by a much larger community, including many people who had not been part of the wedding and didn’t know their personal story.

And something beautiful happened: dancing the same journey for a second time didn’t make it less intense - it made it even deeper.

It showed us how deeply an Ecstatic Dance journey can be integrated into the body and emotions. When you return to the same music and dance the journey again, you can enter it on another level, discover new layers and experience the emotions even more intensely.

This set is dedicated to Larissa & Tristan - their love, their wildness, their deeply touching story and their journey together.

DJ & owner of Arillas Soundgarden on the beautiful island of Corfu in Greece. Host of the year-round weekly Ecstatic Dance on Sunday mornings since 01.01.2023.

*SpaceDeer* stands for holding a clear, grounded space with the sensitivity, dignity, and heart of the deer - creating depth, trust, and transformation without forcing anything.

My philosophy for creating Ecstatic Dance DJ sets:

Ecstatic Dance, for me, is a moving meditation.
A journey through sound, body, and silence.

It begins with grounding -
arriving, breathing, listening.
It ends by dissolving gently back into stillness.

Often, the deepest shifts happen
after the last sound has faded.
In the shared silence, emotions continue to move,
settle, and integrate.

I work multigenre and multicultural by nature.
Jazz, classical music, organic textures,
many shades of house and techno,
traditional sounds, old recordings,
and contemporary electronic forms.

Different cultures evoke emotion in different ways.
Rhythm, harmony, tempo, and tone
carry feeling through culturally shaped pathways.

Within one journey, I allow these worlds to meet.
Contrast opens emotional space.
Between genres and cultures, depth becomes possible.

I often open the journey in heavier, darker tones.
What life brings into the room is welcome.
From there, the dance gradually opens -
through movement, intensity, and release -
before softening into connection and love.

All emotions are welcome.
Through mutual space-holding,
the group supports depth and vulnerability.
Emotional expressions in one dancer
often open doors for others -
allowing feelings to move more freely,
more honestly, more fully.

In this way, the journey becomes
a deeply shared experience,
where individual processes and collective presence
feed and strengthen each other.

*Emotional Journey*

The journey unfolds through emotional phases.

Each phase is a sequence of 3–8 tracks,
layered to build, hold, and deepen
one clear emotional and energetic quality.

Emotion does not appear instantly.
It grows through continuity, repetition,
and staying inside one field long enough
for the body to trust and open.

The emotional qualities I work with

*Grounding*
Landing in your current emotional state.
Connecting with the ground
and with your inner self.
Sometimes dark, sometimes heavy,
sometimes fragile or afraid.
Sometimes joyful, excited, or curious.
Whatever is present is welcome.

*Neutral Movement*
Coming into motion without pressure.
Groove, rhythm, and flow.
Neither heavy nor ecstatic -
a bridge into embodiment.

*Release & Go*
Letting go.
Intensity, shaking, raw movement.
Energy releases, momentum builds.
Ecstasy may arise -
but it is not pursued as a goal.

*Connection*
Energy turns outward.
Shared joy, playfulness, and togetherness.
Songs that invite laughing together,
running and jumping through the space,
meeting each other in movement,
or resting in each other’s arms.
Connection appears in many forms.

*Love*
Warmth, tenderness, integration.
A gentle softening of the field.
Being in love with others
and with yourself.
Feeling love moving outward
and inward at the same time.

*Landing*
The transition from movement into rest.
Guiding the body from dancing into lying down,
from sound into near-silence.
Energy turns inward.
Movement settles.
A conscious arrival.

At times, between Connection and Love,
the journey opens once more into Release & Go -
not to chase a peak,
but to allow another wave of intensity to move through.

In this way, the dance unfolds in layers,
sometimes carrying more than one crest
before it resolves.

These phases are distilled from lived dances -
sequences shaped by real rooms, real bodies, real moments.
They give the journey continuity,
allow transitions to breathe,
and let emotion unfold fully
before it transforms.

Structure is not separate from presence.
It is what allows presence to arrive.
