Excited to share my pride set/setlist from Saturday, 6/28/25! 🎂🌈 it was meaningful to put this together - pride this year more than most felt like it must encapsulate the spirit of resistance, not just a brainrot party. I looked to interviews from Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, the Transgender District, and June Jordan for inspiration while putting this set together (I started the set with June Jordan’s poem “I must become a menace to my enemies” which feels esp. relevant right now.) to this effect I was happy to spotlight tracks made by many of my favorite and influential divas from around the world: Eris drew, tshegue, Caroline polachek, princess Nokia, Lauren flax, MIA (I know she’s cancelled lmao but its impossible to overstate her influence on me) I <3 women!!! some technical difficulties made this set/recording not as skillful/proficient as I would have liked it to be but I think it still captures the vibe + feelings + story I was going for.

More thoughts: as a former organizer, DJing/partying can often seem really self-indulgent, escapist, and devoid of influence to me, and I am trying to figure out ways to use the platforms I am given/my compulsion to create for good and to push important conversations forward. Im taking my role as a storyteller / the opportunity to hold the reins as a DJ more seriously these days - there’s no substitute for real political action but we will need music for the revolution, I think. I hope my project lands with you ♥️
