I was so thrilled when I first saw this remix competition, as The Glitch Mob was one of the first artists that got me into electronic music back in 2010. 

This original is so amazing, but I knew I wanted to make a version that I would fit in more DJ sets, and that I would play out regularly. The stems were also so amazing that I had to incorporate a lot of them into the remix, while still finding ways to make them my own.

Bio:
Brian Schatzel, Adastra, is a Seattle-based music producer and DJ, known for blending melodic-focused EDM with pop sensibility, both in the studio and with his dynamic, high energy DJ sets. With residencies at multiple Seattle nightclubs over the past five years, he has garnered experience adding his flexible style to a variety of genres.

When it comes to music production, Adastra, who's name comes from the Latin translation of "to the stars”, often focuses his sound around a sense of sci-fi euphoria. Exploring everything from future bass, trap, melodic dubstep, and even trance, his original music has earned features and releases on several music collectives/labels, blogs, and YouTube channels. The past couple years have seen his first official remix for Monstercat artist, Disero, and multiple releases on Seattle powerhouse label, Simplify Recordings. Most recently, his Apollo EP has received the attention and support of artists such as Tokyo Machine, Adventure Club, Caslow, and Brainheart.

Aside from producing and DJing, Adastra has always been an advocate of growing and supporting the local music community. Whether it's co-founding a music production club at the University of Washington (@empatuw), or maintaining his "PNW Producer Radio" Spotify playlist, Adastra is always looking for ways to help local artists and support his local scene.
