Inspired by the Apollo 11 moon landing mission, taking samples from throughout that journey. Also includes JFKs famous "we choose to go to the moon speech" that accelerated the space race, culminating in putting the first man on the moon. 

This is a very genre diverse EP, but overall very melody-focused EDM. From ambient, future bass, trance, melodic dubstep, and progress house, this EP has a bit of all my biggest inspirations.

Apollo EP

Liftoff is the first single off of my Apollo EP. Blending both trance and melodic dubstep styles, this song tells the story of the launch of the Apollo 11 mission to put the first human on the moon.

Bio:
Brian Schatzel, Adastra, is a Seattle-based music producer and DJ, known for blending melodic-focused EDM with pop sensibility, both in the studio and with his dynamic, high energy DJ sets. With residencies at multiple Seattle nightclubs over the past five years, he has garnered experience adding his flexible style to a variety of genres.

When it comes to music production, Adastra, who's name comes from the Latin translation of "to the stars”, often focuses his sound around a sense of sci-fi euphoria. Exploring everything from future bass, trap, melodic dubstep, and even trance, his original music has earned features and releases on several music collectives/labels, blogs, and YouTube channels. The past couple years have seen his first official remix for Monstercat artist, Disero, and multiple releases on Seattle powerhouse label, Simplify Recordings. Most recently, his Apollo EP has received the attention and support of artists such as Tokyo Machine, Adventure Club, Caslow, and Brainheart.

Aside from producing and DJing, Adastra has always been an advocate of growing and supporting the local music community. Whether it's co-founding a music production club at the University of Washington (@empatuw), or maintaining his "PNW Producer Radio" Spotify playlist, Adastra is always looking for ways to help local artists and support his local scene.
