Ahoy's Mixes I 2019 👉 2023

Seit etwa 10 Jahren lebt @djahoy seine Liebe zum mixen. Inspiriert von den frühen Boiler Room Sets, began seine musikalische Reise auf einem kleinen Controller den er damals von seinem Freund bekam, mit dem er später zusammen das "Paradisco" Kollektiv gründete.
Weitere einschneidende Inspiration fand er bei seiner ersten Begegnung mit Italo Disco, welche ihm einen neuen Blick auf die Musik gaben.

Wir bedanken uns für dieses wunderschön verspielte Set, welches perfekt zu den Sonnenstrahlen passt, die uns am heutigen Tag den Frühlingsanfang einläuten. Danke Ahoy!

It was the second time for me playing in France, and the first time ever that my mum saw me play. 

She stayed arm crossed, sitting down on a chair under the shadow for most of the set before saying "it wasn't as bad as expected" when I finished.

'Now based in Manchester, BoB has been involved in parties all over the North West as a DJ and Promoter and  was taking time out to concentrate on the joys of parenthood and synth programming, 
Until a chance meeting with Red Laser head honcho "Il Bosco" 
when he managed to lure him into his synth dungeon and played him "Aphelion Run Theme"  on repeat until he agreed to release it on Red Laser EP 11.

Now a fully fledged member of the Red Laser Family and self proclaimed "Stretford Synth Master" BoB decided to put together this mix to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the label. A 90 minute voyage of robotic tunes to make you feel human, keeping the laser beams at full capacity! Craft Music's Good For Dance series continues with its second instalment and this one has been curated by none other than DJ Craft himself. Joining him are talented pals Schmoltz, Bogdan Ra, Romain FX, and Outra, also known as Joutro Mundo. These deep diggers are celebrated for their prowess in unearthing hidden gems and transforming them into dancefloor anthems and that's what they do here as each artist brings a unique flavour to the mix. Schmoltz's 'Luv The States' is a peak-time percussive disco jam, Bogdan Ra brings some slap-funk drums and glossy Italo synths and 'Tell Me Why' has crunchy drums and jagged synth stabs before a camp closer in 'Colosso'.

Jordi, aka Llupe, and Nico, aka DJ Aficionado, share quite a few things in common: Catalan origins, a love for all things Balearic, the same street in Berlin and shows on Refuge Worldwide. They both certainly appreciate a good party, too.

Organizing parties and playing together was a natural direction for them. Their party series, Orbita, launched earlier this year, aims to create ample space for quality adult dance music. It seems to be working well, as they’ve been fortunate to host guests like Apiento, Tom of England, and Sianza, to name a few.

This mix is a recording from the last Orbita party, held at Fitzroy on what many described as the last day of summer in Berlin. For those who remember, it was a dreamy and sensual Sunday, filled with music that sounded just right in that room. It felt nice and cosy and the dancers seemed to be momentarily free from any kind of Monday angst. Playful and light, yet seriously good. Feel the magic, times two.
