Mixed Feelings Vol. 1

The 2015-16 classic future bass sound was one of the biggest driving forces behind us starting to make our own music, and we wanted to pay homage to the sounds of that era through this track. Our first real  exposure to EDM music and this scene in general was in 2016 when Louis the Child came to the UNR campus, and we saw two dudes just about our age living out our dreams. The inspiration from that moment never left us, and we wanted to call back to that with this remix. The easygoing and relaxed vibes provided by the original 'Peaches' felt like the perfect jumping off point for this kind of sound, so we hope this track inspires you to crack open a cold one, chill out by the pool, and let the summer vibes flow.

Lowgroov makes his debut on Almost Like We Met with a two-track EP that hits with intent. Teaming up with Tech Bass on one of the cuts, this release shows off both groove and grit. Leading the charge is 'Kick', a stripped-back roller built around a pitching sub, off-kilter vocals, and percussive textures that snap and shuffle. On the flip, 'Less Is More' leans into a playful vocal hook, warped 808s, gritty reese bass, and a chaotic mix of synth lines bold and unfiltered. Both tracks land with weight, built for the floor.

Alexa is a Tech House DJ from Sarnia, Ontario and has been DJing for just over 3 years. She enjoys playing deep, bass-driven Tech House with infectious grooves. Alexa is currently in the works of producing her own music and hopes to bring out her own sound. Alexa has won the 2023 Miami Groove Cruise Undiscovered DJ Contest which officially led her to her American debut. She's also had the opportunity to open for Nostalgix, Odd Mob, and has performed at various events in southern Ontario including events at Rum Runners and London Music Hall.
