Alex Preston’s ‘Love You Better’ is an uplifting, feel good record which brings nothing but sunshine and positive energy. Based in Sydney, the upcoming DJ, producer and live performer has been making a name for himself in the scene, building an impressive following and gaining support from Pete Tong, Fat Boy Slim, Danny Howard and Toolroom’s own Mark Knight.

Alex Preston gets the party going with both his unique live performances and recordings, utilising his signature guitar sound to showcase his abilities as a virtuoso musician and electronic music producer. This is especially prominent on his latest release ‘Love You Better’, his Chic esque guitar riffs flitting around a sun-soaked disco house beat, full of that Australian party vibe which will put a smile on anyone’s face. The record makes use of a classic Steely Dan track – ‘Peg’, sampling cuts of the vocals and brass sections adding a little bit of sunshine to an already outstanding release. ‘Love You Better’ is the perfect soundtrack for those spontaneous trips to the beach and warm summer nights of non- stop dancing where you can just forget about the world.

Plaisirs Sonores Records is proud to unveil Golden Flight EP, a dynamic new release featuring a collaboration between Nicolas Viana and Federico Monachesi. The EP includes two original tracks, Golden Flight and Coral, bringing together the unique styles and strengths of each artist to deliver a compelling progressive house experience.

Nicolas Viana, from Argentina, has been steadily building his reputation in the progressive and melodic house scene with releases on respected labels and support from leading DJs worldwide. He previously appeared on Plaisirs Sonores Records with Endgame, a standout collaboration with Anonimat. Known for lush melodies, emotive atmospheres, and impeccable production skills, Nicolas continues to craft music that resonates both on the dancefloor and in personal listening.

Federico Monachesi, hailing from Italy, makes his debut on Plaisirs Sonores Records with this release. Federico has developed a signature sound that blends organic textures, deep grooves, and emotive chord progressions. With a growing presence in the international electronic music scene, he brings a refined sense of musicality and energy to this collaboration.

The EP opens with the title track, Golden Flight, an uplifting, melody-driven journey with hypnotic rhythms perfect for sunset & sunrise moments. Coral offers a deeper, more intricate exploration, demonstrating the artists versatility while maintaining a strong groove for the dancefloor.

Six years have passed since the last Morse code transmission was received from Duck Sauce’s undisclosed Disco Communication Tower Beta 32. Not much has been known about the Ducks’ location nor strategy, though an undercover agent claims to have spotted Armand Van Helden and A-Trak at a clandestine merengue class in Key Largo, Florida last Fall. The two black-belt groove merchants recently hinted at some 2020 activity, including a rumored Zumba performance at the shamanistic desert gathering known as Coachella. It seems we have now received a broadcast which is labeled “Smiley Face.” We hope it provides peace.

Since the inception of his live show and his exciting new style of house music, Alex Preston has become a force to be reckoned with in the world of electronic music. The Sydney-native utilises his skills as a virtuoso musician as he tastefully melds his signature guitar licks with disco tinged bass lines and warm pulsating house beats. 

2020 is proving to be Alex Preston’s breakout year with Mark Knight labelling him as one of his favourite producers and one to watch out for in the coming months. Signing with Mark’s infamous Toolroom Records, Alex was handed the responsibility of mixing and curating the Toolroom Poolside Album 2020. The release features 4 new originals from Alex with vocals from Rion S and includes his collaboration with the legendary, Friend Within. It also includes 2 DJ mixes hand picked by Alex, not only showcasing Alex’s production talents but also his skills as a tastemaker DJ. 

The run up to the end of 2019 saw Alex’s music hit a new gear as Traxsource named him their no.15 highest selling House artist for 2019; Alex sharing the top 20 with names such as David Penn, Low Steppa, Mousse T, Kevin McKay, Purple Disco Machine & Todd Terry. 

This momentum flowed into January 2020 as Friend Within played Alex’s single “Your Ragga” off his Basement Sound label on BBC Radio 1 Future Anthems; along with the Aston Shuffle spinning his track “A Very Healthy Thing” off Low Steppa’s Simma Black imprint on Triple J; all in the same weekend. 

The following week Mark Knight dropped “A Very Healthy Thing” on Toolroom Radio and hailed Alex as “a name to look out for in 2020”. Toolroom records singing Alex’s single “An Example of Disco” (featuring the vocals of Rion S) scheduling it for a worldwide release on 6 March 2020 adding it to their Miami 2020 Compilation. 

Alex also signed with Kevin McKay’s hugely successful, Glasgow Underground. With Kevin himself editing one of Alex’s more blues-influenced tracks, “Get Myself Together” (also featuring the vocals of Rion S and released on 3 April 2020). 

The rest of 2020 is looking solid for Alex with a collaboration with Siege due for release on Toolroom’s T2 Album in July, along with releases on the uber cool UK based Another Rhythm Records. Not to mention, there’s word of an album dropping on his own Basement Sound imprint in September!
