In the 80s, DJs would seek the Extended 12” versions of their favorite tracks. These sought after records would contain the cutting-edge remixes of the day. I was one of those DJs that would go digging for these treasured vinyl discs. This mixtape is from my collection and contains many songs that I loved as a kid in the 80s, and still warm my heart today. I let the songs ride because that’s how we used to do it. If you play good music, you don’t have to rush through the mix. As with fine wine. It should be savored, not gulped. The art of DJing, created by pioneers such as Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, and Afrika Bambaataa allows an individual to become a one-man band by utilizing two turntables as musical instruments. AL3, born Albert Lineses III, stood behind a turntable for the first time as a 14-year-old growing up in Phoenix. He practiced his craft day in and day out to ensure his live
mixes would be some of the illest to bless ears around the globe, and that
his unique sound would cement his name worldwide as not just AL3, but as he is affectionately called by UFC President Dana White: “A-L-Mutha F%KN Three!” 
 
His talent did not go unnoticed. In 2009, White approached AL3 to
become the first and only Official DJ of the UFC. Since that fateful encounter, AL3 has played at countless sold-out arenas across various countries, including 55,000
people in Toronto, Canada and 57,000 in Melbourne, Australia. He would later catch the ear of NBA team owner, Gavin Maloof and become the live events DJ for the  Sacramento Kings, as well as continuing to book a myriad of dates and residencies at nightclubs in prominent cities worldwide from Las Vegas to Kuala Lumpur. AL3 has also won The DJ Times Magazine International DJ Spinoff and The Nightclub & Bar Magazine National DJ Spinoff, twice! A three-time National DJ Champion, he continues to travel the globe performing his signature mixes and remains one of the most sought after DJs in the world.
