Vault Sessions #044 - Mayeul

The First Kyiv Machine-Building Plant, formerly and famously known as “Bilshovyk” was founded back in 1882 and employed only 30 workers. Having survived the bombing during the war and a crisis at the end of the last century, the plant has survived to this day. “𝗕𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘃𝘆𝗸” is an example of decline, debt accumulation, and a problem for the state budget. All this is due to past corruption and inefficient governance. Currently, the main activity of 𝗞𝘆𝗶𝘃’𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 lies not in production, but in leasing its premises, which account for 75-80% of all income. The company itself is unprofitable, and the amount of debt to third parties, including tax debt, exceeds UAH 500 million. Today the enterprise is in the active process of preparing for privatization, which will attract funds to the state budget, opposing the multimillion-dollar debt situation that it now finds itself in.

MarcelDune is an experimental electronic music artist based in London, UK.

Their music is created by combining modular synthesizers with analog & digital sounds in addition to field recordings (including various techniques and knowledge that have been gained from jazz studies and opera singing).

They mainly draw inspiration from street culture and the unique rawness it exhibits.

One other key element that manifests in MarcelDune’s music, is the underground culture, more specifically the people surrounding it and how they try to express their frustration, problems, and society’s oppression through music and dance.

Born in Alcorcón in 1999, this DJ and producer began his career in 
2018, when he discovered his passion for techno. He started DJing in 2019 and soon debuted at raves and small clubs in Madrid. 
Over time, his style has evolved towards slower, purer and more solid rhythms creating serious atmospheres and incorporating emotive melodies that create a fusion between the contemporary and the classic.

In 2020, he began exploring music production with FL Studio, but it was in 2023 
that he adopted Ableton and released his first track, ‘The First Breath,’ in 2024. 

He is co-founder of Insane Faces and Technossquad, recently organised "Contacto", an event held at Lab The Club. He has played in numerous events in Spain, sharing the bill with artists such as Amelie Lens, Ben Sims, Rødhåd, Cristian Varela, Mark Broom, etc.
