BIOGRAPHY
Matt Lewittes, aka DJ Animay, is a veteran DJ and Music Producer with over 30 years of experience, known for electrifying performances and a deep catalog of original work. With over 25 original tracks and remixes and over 250,000k+ listens on SoundCloud, DJ Animay has earned his place as a standout in the electronic music scene! Raised in a musical household—his father a producer for The Jimmy Castor Bunch and his mother a vocalist—Animay developed a passion for sound from an early age and was destined for a life steeped in sound.

His career began in the early 90s, mastering genres like Freestyle, Booty Bass, Hip Hop, and Dance, before embracing Underground Electronic Music. As genres evolved, Breaks became his primary passion, while Trance became a personal favorite for inspiration. Known for infusing girly vocals, arpeggiated strings, and heavy basslines, Animay creates musical journeys that evoke powerful emotions taking listeners on an experience like no other.

Having performed nationwide and garnered a global audience online, DJ Animay has developed a reputation for unique one-of-a-kind, mind-blowing transitions that captivate crowds and keep them connected to the beat. Just someone who has a love for Breaks (almost all breaks but specifically Florida and Louisiana Breaks and Vocal Breaks)...Electro...Trance...Drum&Bass...Dub (the original Dub that was around the Tampa scene from the 90's and early 2000's...not the new Dub that these kids think is the shit)...Trip-Hop...E-Hop...and a few others. Was HEAVILY involved (to put it lightly...no pun intended but pun intended) in the Tampa/Orlando scene from the late 80's thru around 2007 or so...until the scene changed or was forced to change...but this shit is in my blood!!! I guess like they say...Blood in...Blood out!!! Had an iconic and well known house in South Tampa that was called "The House On Stilts"...it was the only house in the subdivision that was up on stilts like a beach house. And if you were in the scene...odds are you've swung thru at some point for one or more of the parties...Lol!!! If so...hit me up and tell me about it...I love hearing the stories because MAN O' FUCKING MAN...THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!! Best times of my life...and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat...I mean breakbeat!!!
