Another stone cold classic track that gets fucked up by Mr Asylum. When I remixed this it seemed like world war 3 was just starting up so this inspired the opening sample (from the movie Equilibrium - Incidentally when I uploaded this to YouTube there was a copyright claim on it immediately from a Nordcore track. I assume they use the same sample). This has a more "hand in the air" feel from the normal DJ Asylum shit. aNtHeMz

Possibly the first line I programmed on the TD-3 (shameless plug for an excellent 303 clone). The electric chair speech towards the end: not sure if this is from a film or TV show (answers on a postcard), but I sampled this off an old Madonna303 acid techno record.

One of my earlier tracks which didn't see much light of day. Not sure it will get much more light now, but I don't think my music (or any in this style) is ready for mass consumption. Probably better that way. Can't imagine this being backing music for Chanterella and Jaydon finally hooking up on Love Island. As per usual a track built almost entirely of samples of other peoples stuff. Standing on the shoulders of giants....

The (sic) is deliberate. This track is the by-product of watching Vietnam movies. Like most of my tracks this one evolved over time and it's taken a long time to end up like this. Quite happy with the synth elements of this and they feel Vietnam war-ish (in my head anyway).

This started as something else. Then it was something else after that. The kick track was always the constant and I always wanted some kind of retro sounding C64 shit melody. I rewrote the acid line a number of times but finally settled on this one which fits in good with the track.

No Reason
Parts of this track have been kicking about for a year. The only thing that's really remained constant is the guitar. The track is called No Reason as I originally sampled David Patrick Kelly from the classic film The Warriors saying "No reason" but I couldn't ever get it to sound right. I wrote the Acid line for a different (slower) track, but thought it fit better here. Not sure if this is how you are supposed to produce music. But who cares?

A track I've done for the Rotjecore Horror Trax project.  The film that I've sampled (can you guess what it is yet?) was one of those that I saw, when I was probably to young to watch it, on a ropey VHS at a friend's house.  Thought the tribal drums (distorted to hell) has a nice creepy sound that went nicely with the exorcism.  Managed to do this track relatively quickly for me.... standard time for any other producer.  Probably.  It's also a free download....so.....

Hint: it's not biblical. I was saving this track for a noisy EP I was planning, but got impatient and wanted to get it out there, so sent it to a buddy for release on SWAN.

I'm sorry - I think every part of this track has been nicked from somewhere. Possibly the DJ in me looking for that 3rd Tune. Chuck D was absent for this track right up to the end. Nearly never had his dulcet tones in it, but what track doesn't sound better with a bit of Chuck D? Intro from The Devil's Rejects. This film wasn't created to generate Oscar buzz - but what a fuckin movie. The final scene with Freebird playing in the background is worth the admission fee alone. This was on a Rotjecore comp about Gabber still being alive.

Here's my failed attempt at Deathmachine's Dred remix competition.  Bit of a rush job as I'm shite with deadlines and some seriously talented producers entered, so wasnt expecting to get a proper release out of it, but it was fun to remix something different.

This track was originally on the Hardcore Overdogs compilation on the legendary Low Entropy's label. This is one of the the few tracks I have done in the name DJ Asylum where I haven't ripped off 30 other people's tracks (just a few maybe). It was originally called Trash 2, as I'd just finished a track called Trash (out now on SWAN!) and I couldn't think of a new title. Then I took a break and listened to Pixies (so maybe I ripped the title off and changed 1 letter). Then.... Tunecore wouldn't let me use the original artwork, so I had to make some quick AI generated art all about a guy in a bunny costume, who's had a rough night on the wine and scratchies. That was about debased as I could get the bunny to be without sending Bing's AI bot into a moral dilemma.

This one was kicking about for a while and it took me a while to get it sounding (fairly) ok. But I've changed bits in this so many times - I tried to shoe horn various vocal samples in, but ended up with Kool Keith, whose voice would fit any track! When I submitted this to SBMB the mix was so crap they had do some serious amounts of work to master it. But fair play to them and Arakane for persisting with the track. Think it's turned out awright.

This was added to the SWAN Terror Tribe compilation. Just wanted to do a hardcore track with bags of energy and loads of breaks for the occasional vocal.  I think I was channelling some early Delta 9 for this. Or maybe I'm talking a load of Pish (2)

Another track that evolved over time, but not sure I like this track now (today is 8th July 2025 - so ask me later. I may have warmed to it by 2027 for example). A bit of a bouncy kick (in parts), to go with a bouncy lyric and some bouncy acid. Not sure the synth sound is bouncy, and I don't think he has ever been associated with bounce. More Bounce. Is this the most time bounce has been mentioned in a paragraph?

Mixmarathon

War of the Worlds. People really believed this radio broadcast, I'm led to believe. Made a cool theme for a track. I always wanted to turn the tuning knob on my TD3 from left to right during a recording, and that might be my favourite part of this track. I know this sounds nothing like it, but the synth coming in at the end was inspired by Somatic Responses and their track Axon on IST - that kind of end of the world synth that comes in after a mechanical first half of the track. Obviously don't do Axon justice, but I reckoned it fit nice with the end of the world samples.

Abundance Of Anger
Top producer is Pardonax. When I sent the first version to him, the comment I got back was along the lines of: "I like the fact it's 6 mins long"... ok then, back to the drawing board. A bit of spit and polish, and I reckon this version (take 2) is pretty decent. Not too like the original, and more in my style. Torture samples, brutal kicks, guitars, screams. All the key ingredients for a good hardcore track. Oh and I threw in a sample from the Manic Street Preachers Holy Bible too for good measure.

Not really got too much to say about this one. Inspired by Kool Keith, The Prodigy and The Sopranos. Has a fairly recognisable kick sample that's been through a few blenders and the most basic of Acid lines. Probably the quickest track I've finished. Must have been on an Anti Procrastination day.
