Resist
A track I've done for the Rotjecore Horror Trax project.  The film that I've sampled (can you guess what it is yet?) was one of those that I saw, when I was probably to young to watch it, on a ropey VHS at a friend's house.  Thought the tribal drums (distorted to hell) has a nice creepy sound that went nicely with the exorcism.  Managed to do this track relatively quickly for me.... standard time for any other producer.  Probably.  It's also a free download....so.....

DJ Asylum - Resist

This track was originally on the Hardcore Overdogs compilation on the legendary Low Entropy's label. This is one of the the few tracks I have done in the name DJ Asylum where I haven't ripped off 30 other people's tracks (just a few maybe). It was originally called Trash 2, as I'd just finished a track called Trash (out now on SWAN!) and I couldn't think of a new title. Then I took a break and listened to Pixies (so maybe I ripped the title off and changed 1 letter). Then.... Tunecore wouldn't let me use the original artwork, so I had to make some quick AI generated art all about a guy in a bunny costume, who's had a rough night on the wine and scratchies. That was about debased as I could get the bunny to be without sending Bing's AI bot into a moral dilemma.

This was added to the SWAN Terror Tribe compilation. Just wanted to do a hardcore track with bags of energy and loads of breaks for the occasional vocal.  I think I was channelling some early Delta 9 for this. Or maybe I'm talking a load of Pish (2)

Pish 2

Another track that evolved over time, but not sure I like this track now (today is 8th July 2025 - so ask me later. I may have warmed to it by 2027 for example). A bit of a bouncy kick (in parts), to go with a bouncy lyric and some bouncy acid. Not sure the synth sound is bouncy, and I don't think he has ever been associated with bounce. More Bounce. Is this the most time bounce has been mentioned in a paragraph?

Mixmarathon

War of the Worlds. People really believed this radio broadcast, I'm led to believe. Made a cool theme for a track. I always wanted to turn the tuning knob on my TD3 from left to right during a recording, and that might be my favourite part of this track. I know this sounds nothing like it, but the synth coming in at the end was inspired by Somatic Responses and their track Axon on IST - that kind of end of the world synth that comes in after a mechanical first half of the track. Obviously don't do Axon justice, but I reckoned it fit nice with the end of the world samples.

Abundance Of Anger
Top producer is Pardonax. When I sent the first version to him, the comment I got back was along the lines of: "I like the fact it's 6 mins long"... ok then, back to the drawing board. A bit of spit and polish, and I reckon this version (take 2) is pretty decent. Not too like the original, and more in my style. Torture samples, brutal kicks, guitars, screams. All the key ingredients for a good hardcore track. Oh and I threw in a sample from the Manic Street Preachers Holy Bible too for good measure.

Another SWAN track. Hardcore techno is surely about nicking samples, right? A few recognisable ones here, but it's ok! It's homage, not plagiarism. Seriously, I was obsessed with the Blade Runner Rutger Hauer sample since I heard it on Unknown Source's Shoop! EP (massively under rated) and had to get it into a track somehow. This one was the winner. That's the spirit.
