DJ Delight was born in Southern California with his childhood years being spent in North Hollywood. The radio was always on in his home and through a local radio station he fell in love with dance muzik.

The funky sounds of dance muzik had him entranced, and while some kids wanted to learn the guitar and others wanted to rap, Delight set his heart on making his own dance muzik.

Delight eventually moved to Ventura County where he met some DJs and got started mixing dance beats. The move to Ventura, though, was short-lived and he moved to Sacramento, CA. But a move to Northern Cali, an hour north of San Francisco, didn’t damper his dreams.

Instead, Delight hooked up with others in the area and was part of a party crew that helped bring dance muzik to Sacramento. The party crew Delight was part of threw house parties, rented out venues to host club raves, and promoted and played at large raves in Sacramento that had thousands in attendance.

While living in Sacramento, Delight never forgot his So Cal heritage and maintained old friendships. So while living in Northern Cali, Delight would travel back down south to spin at parties in the area where he first fell in love with the music he was now playing.

In addition to the party scene, Delight was a regular DJ on a dance muzik radio station in Sacramento. And it was in Sacramento that he began to produce his own muzik based on the influences of producers and DJs such as Tony B, Mark V,  Poogie Bear, AmFm Alexander, DJ Tragic, DJ Irene and Richard Humpty Vission, as well as the overall sounds of techno and hard house.


Hip hop, rock (including Spanish Rock), and other Latin music, and oldies from the 50’s to the 70’s, like Disco and 80’s jams, have all been sounds Delight has found enjoyable, being open to all good music of various genres. And these influences will sometimes be found in his own sound.

Life has thrown Delight curveballs, but he has not let that deter him. He has kept spinning and producing while others have given up, knowing that his life is muzik. He has kept tweaking and working his techniques to continue to grow. 

If you love dance muzik, if you like funky beats, enjoy deep bass lines, and especially if you like that old-school hard house sound
and want a modern take, DJ Delight’s music belongs in your playlist.
