Hi again, been a while !

After five years apart from composing and creating ; I tried to take the time and not pressure myself ; making what I like and do the "best". Experiencing the lack of imagination for so long is quite difficult but, in the end, you'll find a way in the ocean of melodies and mix it up to new pieces. I'm happy to find the path to creation again, after so long. Hope you'll enjoy this very new stuff.

FIRST ECLIPSE ON MARS

Year 2015.

I'd only been composing music with my iPad 1 for four years.

I was lucky enough to find an app that allowed me to "make music" easily: Music Studio 2. It's the only DAW I've ever used, aside from trying out a few tracks with Garage Band.

I made an effort to learn, and so every night I searched the software's forum, where other users were asking questions, suggesting improvements, and posting their compositions (some of which were downloadable). Little by little, I got to know some of them and established some trust (I still write to them from time to time...). Yes, I was a forty-something among people twice my age (and much older... in some cases).

The most active was my friend Ronald, who suggested composing music related to the seven deadly sins. I chose envy.

A couple of years later, I completely reworked the melody and added new sounds with synthesizers I obtained from new apps I added to my collection. Although there was some underlying music that connected the two melodies, it couldn't be said to be the same. So I decided to give it another name, and called it First Eclipse on Mars.

Story
Echoes of Eternity. Story for a pop-rock song
Verse 1: In the year 2125, in a city suspended over the sea, lives Elaia, an artist who paints with light. Every night, without knowing why, she draws the same face: green eyes, a sad smile, a scar on her eyebrow. She has never seen him, but she feels him close.
Verse 2: In another part of the world, Gael, a street musician, composes melodies that come to him in dreams. Always the same harmony, always the same name: Elaia. He thinks he's a muse, but deep down he knows she's more.
Chorus (idea): “Even if the world changes its skin,
even if time erases the paper,
I find you, I feel you,
in every life, in every wind.”
Narrative bridge: One day, they are both invited to an interdimensional art festival in Bilbao, where they unknowingly cross paths. Elaia sees Gael play and stops. He looks at her and stops singing. The world seems to stop. They don't know each other, but they recognize each other.
Climax: When they touch for the first time, they both remember fragments of other lives: a couple in the Middle Ages fleeing inquisitors, two lovers in feudal Japan separated by war, two astronauts saying goodbye in the orbit of Saturn. They always find each other. They always get lost. They always come back.
Open ending: Elaia and Gael decide not to run away this time. They compose a song together that becomes an anthem for those who believe in eternal love. The lyrics change with each performance, as if rewritten by time. But the message remains: "I will return to you, even if the universe breaks apart."
