The Rhythm Society ADDC - Love Is...

A special day, evening and early morning filled with love, I left a multi-couple vow renewal to go to a co-ed Stag/Stagette and then made it back to the vow renewal to cap of a string of 9 dj sets to close out the party. My set started at 4am and there were still some real appreciators hanging about, I brought the energy down with a beach boys chanting harmony's song called "Our prayer" (check out my Silent Disco Pachena Set from 2023 to hear that or find it on all the usual channels, it's beautiful) I left it off this one for simplicity. I then proceeded to play some mid tempo groovers to get everyone to relax a little after all my thirsty dj friends relentlessly had their way with the dancers for the previous 12 hours (lol). Once that was achieved I played another ambient track and then took the tempo back to 118 and built it up from there to try to keep everyone awake until the end of the set (bedtime!). The highlight for me was the classic Metro Area - Caught Up mix into Volume by Caribou, which had only come out a few days before and made everyone's hair stand on end, there was also certain feedback that lent itself to the name of the mix (if you were there you might know) anyway, I knew I had to go back and record it as I hadn't done so at the party, and I also now have a new DJ goal (Sploosh!). Also props to DJ Burrito Boy for the tracks that make them jack and slap and Eddie C and Max Essa for the Smooth Jazzcid. No less mention goes to all the artists whose music is featured in this set, I've put links to all the albums on bandcamp where I copped it (DJs go rinse!) This was my set I played on the Dusty Rhino the night of the Burn 2015.  I had not planned on playing this evening, but we learned that day of the passing of our dear friend, Mike Reigle.
