Burning Man '23 - Fuego

Instead of Burning the Man on Saturday night, the rain pushed things out for a few days. Bound to confines of our village and having everything and more needed to keep the party going, the Mysfit Village: Home of The Narwhal decided to let Boobs N Berries throw down and keep the spirits high post flood. As word got out the Boobs bar overflowed with donations from neighbouring camps, the music ceased to stop, fire spinners kept lighting up and revellers came to shake the mud off themselves and danced all night. This renegade rained-in block party was a highlight for many people's burn and also for Jackpot and I.

This is a re-record and attempt to recapture the magic of a set played after record setting rains at burning man. Our camp, while shelter-in-place managed to throw an absolutely ~bitchin~ party for our neighbors.

This set is inspired by producers I found during the Summer of 2023 and at EDCLV. I performed this set live at Burning Man camps Rippers Row and Incendia on the second Saturday after the rain stopped.  Months were spent putting this set together, editing tracks, remixing, and dialing in transitions. If you pay attention closely you might just discover the underlying story weaved into this journey. We're very happy to share with you a snippet of tunes from our 5-hour set on the beach at Maxa Camp!  It was just wonderful to spend the day on our favorite beach playing music to such a fantastic crowd.  We journeyed gradually from old funk, reggae, and Brazilian songs to the deeper dancey vibe you'll hear in this mix.  The day ended dramatically, with a surprise rainstorm, mini party in the DJ booth, and a giant rainbow to top it all off!  Huge thanks to the folks at Maxa for welcoming us <3
