You’re part of a sea of entities dancing together, your sense of time fades away as you lose your grip on the present. Your eyes finally open to a moment that brings you back to reality - you’ve made it, the last record is winding down. A final send-off of chilled electronic bliss flows through the speakers as you gather your friends and put on your sunglasses. You survived 24 hours in Miami. Don’t forget to tip your bartenders before you leave :)

Inspired by Danny Howells and his Halloween of 2004 event at Club Space, running all night in the main room downstairs and finished in the late morning on the terrace, which I had the honor of joining him in the booth for (thanks Ramon Crespo!). This event was later the basis for Howell’s Global Underground 27 two-cd release in 2005.

First ever DJs playing the Sonic Sphere! Read on :)

Attending my first ever Burning Man-like event "Love Burn" here in Miami, I was contributing my Pioneer DJ setup for a camp I was joining "The Village" -- we didn't get the sound setup on Wednesday night, and a new friend I'd made that day, Bruno, texted me and mentioned if I bring my gear to Sonic Sphere we'd be able to play until 5AM and coincidentally be the first DJs to perform there. 

We only got in a warmup of two hours (having literally never heard each other's music before *at all*) before we were shut down by the decibel police, but I recorded the set and we jived well, playing from a DJ booth made literally that afternoon. 

Forgive some of the off mixes -- neither of us are Master Sync button users and at times the decks were a little bouncy when suspended on a platform 100 or so feet in the air surrounded by people dancing like mad on the netting :)

Friday night of Love Burn in Miami on Virginia Key, Bruno invited me to play another b2b set with him at The Village camp I was part of – this was my first ever Burning Man-style event. He was then gracious enough to cut the set a little short to allow Jenny Schorch aka Djen to play (her set starts 1hr in), who I’d recently taught the ropes of DJ’ing around six months ago and was ultimately the catalyst for why I attended Love Burn. 

Incredible night! The dance floor was on fire…literally and figuratively :)
