Tribute Mix to the late great Big L that I recorded just over 12 years ago for my radio show, The Cultural Vibe, on WDBM. This doesn't have any talking or drops and there are a couple of long instrumental breaks where you can imagine me backselling, frontselling and giving that evening's cold weather forecast. Lots of classics here but no "Ebonics" because I couldn't find my 12" that day, lol. RIP Big L. Also... 1. No heavy profanity here, since it was made for College radio. 2. Recorded live in 1 take. 3. DJ Benny Ben: Big L Tribute Mix 2 - 05 - 05 (Cultural Vibe)

Back when I was on WDBM at MSU, I did a few short guest mixes on the Impact Flashback show which aired on Friday nights. My homegirl Molly was the host and as I recall this was one of the first times that the show began to include early 90s music as well as 70s and 80s. I had some ideas in my head with a few tracks i used to love in elementary/ Jr high school and I cranked this out like literally seconds before I had to move out of one apartment and into another. Definitely a new jack swing feeling here with a dash of 80s rap & RnB. Enjoy!
