An 80s baby from East Los Angeles, I grew up immersed in funk, old school, and hip hop. I was a teenager and bona-fide hip hop head during the mid to late 90s Golden Era of hip hop. And I spent dozens of hours commuting via public bus during middle and high school and grew my encyclopedic knowledge of rap and lyrics. 

I was a DJ and curator before I had any equipment, breaking records to friends and family by keeping an eye on BET's Rap City, The Source, Vibe, and frequent trips to the legendary Tower Records. 

Friends and fam relied on me then to show them the newest tracks and they still do today.
