Thought I'd try my hand at remixing this house music anthem. Giving me something to look forward to playing out when events becoming a thing again in the UK.

I've built it from the ground up, using the original vocal samples N-Joi used. I also used the Korg M1 plugin for that go to 90s house piano. Added some of my own backing vocals in places to bring something extra to the mix.

P.S it was designed to be like a last tune kinda thing, hence the lack of a standard drum intro. Just so you know my thinking behind the structure.

Been sitting on this for a while. Made it pretty quick after finding an old project file (the main ravey synth breakdown part I made in 2018 with no idea what to do with it). Found it again during lockdown and decided to try build something round it.

I wanted to make something that sounded old but new. 90s type rave elements and some breakbeat.

I've tried a few times to work more on it more, as I feel certain parts aren't right and I know certain levels are gash..... but, I enjoy the rawness of it. The spark came quick....and didn't come back....so, you know what, it is what it is. It felt right at the time. So that's what it is. It's not like I'm releasing it or anything. Just making stuff for fun.

I've had this on my Mixcloud for years but testing to see if Soundclouds bots want to go to war with this again.

This is the mashup mix I did for Scotland's TayFM Radio for John Milne's "Fired Up Fridays" show back in 2009/10

Completely inspired by 2manyDJs "As Heard On Radio Soulwax" mixes and Annie Mac's 5min mini mix she would get DJs to do. Said to John Milne I could do that, so he let me loose. Huge thanks to him for letting me loose on the airwaves for a bit.

Roughly 181 tracks in all if my memory serves me correctly. I was a young, keen and full of beans DJ at the time. I couldn't do even 1 minutes worth of this today. I would love to have that energy and drive again. 

It's not the best quality I know but it's the only copy I have.

Some utter nonsense came out of my brain back then. I've had words with myself since then.

Was tasked by some pals a few years back to do something with Dido - White Flag as it was a bit of an in joke we had. 

Didn't tell them I had something put together and played it for the first time during a lockdown live stream I was part of that was put together by loads of venues, bars, clubs etc from Aberdeen. It was a top day and ace to be part of something like that during those shitty times. I believe it raised a few smiles from the lads as they watched. 

Anyway, it has been sitting on my HD ever since. Might as well share and see if anyone finds a use for it or just wants to hear it.

I heard a couple of ropey mixes near the end so I'm betting my ego back then didn't want to share it. Anyway, I thought I'd get it up for those who remember the night and for the nostalgia. 

Gavrillo was a weekly dance night each Thursday in Aberdeen. I had some wicked nights there and loved being part of it all. We had some wild times.

At the time I couldn't get a hold of the acapella so had to do the best in using the raw track and work around it. The project file was on an older laptop that went to tech heaven, so any plan to go back and add the studio acapella is a no go.

I heard a bootleg with these tracks years back and couldn't get a download anywhere. Also I didn't like certain things they did in it. Things were out of tune and a bit off I thought. But absolutely loved the idea.  

So, I did my own version back in 2015. It really works in clubs when needing to transition to rocky stuff or also as a last tune kinda thing.

The intro was my own idea, chopping between stuff and the entire structure also. It's the songs mashup together that I nabbed.

This started off as something of an intro track for my DJ sets. I then went back to it a few weeks later and added more production to the original bootleg to give it a more clubby feel, new bassline and drums etc. It was doing no good just gathering dust on the HD so might as well share it.

From time to time I like to make electronic music. I'm not a professional producer. I was just some kid that had a passion for making music in his bedroom. These are a selection of tracks I've made over a number of years. Production quality will vary from track to track as they were all made on different equipment and platforms. 

I've been wanting to share my stuff for ages but I've never felt things are good enough or finished. I've decided to just put these out there as a bit of a clean out. Perhaps having them out there will make me move forward in my love of trying to create new music. At the end of the day, it's all just about enjoying what you are doing and each one of these productions held a special place in my heart whilst making them.

If anyone wants to lend me a shot of their million dollar recording studio for free for a few weeks I'd be happy to try and bash out the best sounding music my soul can come up with. . . .  hey, god loves a trier

Anyway, I hope you find something enjoyable in any of my work. Again, I'm still just that kid many moons ago who fell in love with the possibility of making music in my bedroom. Go easy on that kid. :)

Yes, I put an orchestra to work on a Stevie Nicks track. 

A weapon of an 80s tune written by Prince and Stevie Nicks. I hope I have did it some justice. As usual with a lot of my remixes of older stuff I try and keep the essence of the track but bring it a little bit more up-to-date sonically.
