Back in 2013 I was at a free Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs concert in the park. I was singing along to most of the songs, and my girlfriend at the time was giving me this puzzled look. I asked her what the funny look was all about, and she said, “How do you know all this Yacht Rock?”. I started cracking up because I had never heard it called that before. We were both born in the 80’s, so we didn't really start listening to music until the 90's, and she was shocked that I knew all this soft rock that came out before I was born. She joked that I should make a mix of it just for fun, so I did, and it ended up being an extremely popular mix of mine. I know it's been a while, but I decided to make a part 2. Enjoy!

For Yacht Rock purists, this mix is NOT for you, I get it. I've been performing these jacked up and edgy versions of classic smooth hits from the late 70's and early 80's and in front of 20-40 year-olds for a few years and they think it's a new style of music and they actually LOVE them! I was shocked! Freshening up these tracks gives gives a new apprecation to generations decades ahead of their orginal releases.  I play this mix on my boat, will you? Stay smoooth yacht rockers....

DJ BorgLando (Jeff Borg) has been a HUGE fan of Yacht Rock Revue since 2017 when he moved from Minneapolis to Orlando.  After playing thousands of gigs prior to moving to Florida, he had to reinvent himself.  Putting his own spin on familiar yacht rock tunes DJ BorgLando is breaking in his new show, 
"The Yacht Rock Experiment".  He would love to open for Yacht Rock Revue on their next trip to Orlando.

8ball - Don't Stop The Yacht... Rock

Listening to these smooth, tightly produced songs in the late 70's and early 80's  I had no idea there was a new genre being born. The term "Yacht Rock" was born from a couple of different sources but essentially from the vision of snorting coke and drinking champagne on a yacht listening to this smooth rock classics.  The genre defies definition but you know a "Yacht Rock" song when you hear one. This is a little "housey" live mix of some yachty favorites. Cheers, snort, party on!

A Lazy Floatin' Yacht-Club-Disco Mix by Dj Supermarkt / Too Slow To Disco

This mix is inspired by late nights at The Zoo Disco and Mr. Spud Disco.  Disco got a bad rap because of the formula and use of electronic gadgets.  Ha! Kind of groundbreaking if you think of it.   It may surprise you that SO many mainstream bands of the time succumbed and put out songs that could be played and danced to at discos: The Stones, ELO, Paul McCartney, Chicago, Rod Stewart, and even KISS.  This mix is updated and fresh but I tried to stay true to the essence of the day. #youshouldbedancingyeah
