Sound Factory was one of the most legendary clubs in the world that till this day continues to influence our club culture as it exists today. This holiday set pays tribute to that place and the man that defined the underground house scene in New York City. With love and respect always to my teacher, Junior Vasquez. His legacy continues through music and this is in honor to the house that he built. May your holidays be filled with happiness, joy, and music! Love Always! Brian

This is a very special tape for me... Not only is Junior my musical mentor & friend... but thee DJ that inspires me to keep pushing on in this DJ game that I take so serious & passionate about. To watch Junior play was always a treat for me... though at times hard cause I always love watching him work his crowd but I had to take breaks from the DJ booth 2 hit that dancefloor & let all my emotions out.
The cool thing about that, I was able 2 bring my daughter 2 some of his events with me 2 experience Junior's magic... & yes it truly was magic.

I have received so many positive responses after my last Sound Factory inspired classics mix of the darker and dirtier sounds asking for a follow up. I had always wanted to do a mix with the unforgettable vocals that Jonathan used to play but the only way to appropriately pay homage to his DJ'ing style, to attempt to evoke the emotions he was able to do on a weekly basis is to recreate each song as he would. For those who never shared the dance floor with us at 618 w 46th St in the early 2000's what he would do was to rip each track apart and put it together again using multiple (unreleased) versions including instrumentals, acapellas, strings, flutes, pads and a Pioneer EFX-500. The effect of these extra steps would be to constantly leave the audience waiting to see how a song would be played and whether new nuances would be added. Often times these tracks would be extended upwards of 15 minutes each which is unheard of in the modern day. I mostly stopped collecting these songs years ago, but I had the idea and a few important friends and contributors (thanks to those who know who they are) gave the final missing pieces that I never had in order to justify doing a mix of this length and in this style. My own personal requirement is to only include songs of the highest (lossless) audio quality as opposed to the hideous sounding versions of these songs that were shared on Napster/Soulseek that have now worked there way into other sets and on YouTube. Additionally I tried to avoid songs that were included in CD's that were sold by Sound Factory unless I could recreate them differently than was done on the CD, many of the songs that aren't in this 8+ hour mix that otherwise would be are for this reason. I wanted to share something completely unique and special in a way that has never been shared. Every song included in this mix are all lossless audio studio masters or were released solely on vinyl and have been personally ripped by me. I hope this mix is as meaningful to you as it is to me. The tracks selected were chosen from a series of tracklists that I had personally written in the summer-fall 2003 period from Sundays at Sound Factory and the objective of this mix is to transport you back to that time. It's nothing other than a tribute to Jonathan who was a godlike figure at the time and has musically captivated so many of us.

From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers’. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses. He’s been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others.

His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. Known to many as the ‘DJ’s DJ’, Boris has had the career most DJs can only wish to have. The trends, they may change but the New York native has stayed true to his drum driven sounds and created his own niche in the wide and vast world of electronic music. Taking bits and pieces from every part of the globe he visits, Boris always maintains a piece of home in his music. 

Even though his career spans nearly three decades, the journeyman DJ has yet to falter. We currently find him playing leading to destinations across the globe and his music is in high demand with forthcoming releases many sought after labels, Boris will is constantly on the tips of the younger generation’s tongue. Why? Because talent, like wine, gets better with age.
