I have been a fan of Troye's since he dropped his first album, so right when I saw he released this song, I knew this would be Friday's video! Here is my spicy acoustic cover of "IN A DREAM." Here is what makes it spicy!

While trying to stay true to the original intro, I added my own twist to the hits that lead into the verse. This lead really well into a unique rhythm in the verses that keeps energy but still gives space for the song to build.

Instead of using generic open chord voicings, I also tend to use voicing that add the 2, 9, 13 and so on. This makes a normal Dm7 and Dm9 or Dm11 which gives the song more air and fill. 

I also chose to reharmonize the pre-chorus on the second pass through. Instead of the Dm - G - C - Am repeating, I instead do Dm - Em - F - F/G which leads into the Chorus very nicely!
