Hi guys here is my tribute to the Raver Baby label, at a time when hardcore looked dead Hixxy took a risk and launched his new label which gave new life to a struggling scene and took it in a new direction, respect.

SKANK STOMP SKANK STOMP!

Here it is, my two hour highly experimental, 42 track deep, and completely unrehearsed Drum and Bass vs Hardcore set, recorded live on Jurassic Journey Live stream event.

This set's concept is as follows: a track from each genre from every year between 2000-2020 played chronologically. The idea is to give an insight into the tandem evolution of both styles of music, and to try and actually bring the two genres into some kind of harmony, especially as they share the same evolutionary origins.

First things first .... Happy New Year ! hopefully 2021 will be better than 2020 which was awful for a lot of people, seems a bit strange talking about music at the moment but then again music can help you get through tough times, so with that said 2020 was probably the best year for Breakbeat Hardcore since the mid ninties, I think I said that last year but this year managed to be even better. Lots of original old skool artists returning to the scene and lots of new labels cropping up, its all good.
On to the mix, as I usually say with these end of year mixes I didn't fit in all the tracks I wanted too, I had a shortlist of around 100 tracks and even that missed out lots of great tracks (apologies to any artists or labels I missed, It doesn't mean I don't appreciate your work this year), I also wanted to keep the mix under 2hrs, even 2hrs is a lot longer than my normal mixes as I think people get bored if they are too long (plus I was knackered by the end of it lol), I haven't listened back to it properly so hopefully there aren't any major mistakes, anyway enjoy !
