Ten Years Of Leng Records Mixed By Simon Purnell

It is an honor and a true pleasure publish a podcast that comes from this man.
Leo Mas started DJ career in Ibiza where he played at the Amnesia club (with Alfredo) during '85, '86, '87 and '88 (The Second Summer of Love) and '90 (without Alfredo Fiorito who played at Pacha).
He is considered one of the pioneers of house music and balearic sound.
In 1989 at Movida (Italian club) he decided to have on his side, Fabrizio Lazzari and Andrea Gemolotto, to begin a project that was named Big Brother Production. They started some record labels: Informal Records, Muzak, Pin Up, Models Inc. and Spock, related to various styles of house, techno and electronic music.

Simon “Woolfy” James is the first guest on SOULMEEX PRO and we'll never be able to thank him enough for it because he's a terrific musician, DJ, and live performer with an 18+ year career.

Living in Ojai, California, but originally from the UK he’s released multiple albums and EPs on labels like DFA Records, Permanent Vacation, Future Classic, or his own Ritual Release Recordings, both solo and with his music partner D-Hastie under the moniker Projections.

His tracks have been remixed by widely acclaimed artists such as Benjamin Fröhlich, Markus Worgull, Eagles & Butterflies, Jacques Renault, Musumeci, El_Txef_A, and Francis Inferno Orchestra among others.

Last, but not least, he’s published DJ sets for the likes of Vice Magazine, Ramson Note, and Dream Chimney.

His debut on SOULMEEX PRO is a luminous manifesto of Balearic, disco and deep music to celebrate that summer is already here in the northern hemisphere.

For the last four years, Bruce has been a resident at the New York's most visible nightclub, House of Yes, where he holds his monthly party Funk You, playing marathon open to close sets.

Bruce has also provided his curatorial ear to scores of cultural happenings and night spots, including (the now defunct) Output, Kinfolk Studios, 35s & 45s and Le Bain at The Standard High Line, where he was the Assistant Artistic Managing Director under the legendary team that gave New York the Boom Boom Room, APT, SubMercer at the legendary Mercer Hotel.

Bruce has contributed original tunes and remixes for labels Soul Clap, Let's Play House and Fool's Gold. Along with DJs Tommy Castro and William Robbins, Bruce hosts a monthly mix show – GRAND STREET SOUNDS – on The Lot Radio.
In 2018 Bruce started his own imprint – Bumpin' Somethin' Records – out of his apartment.
