Rising Together: New Voices in Global House

In the ever-evolving landscape of electronic music, a rare alchemy occurs when artists honor tradition while daring to explore the unknown. This delicate balance—respecting roots while reaching toward new sonic horizons—is what defines Chasing Sun(Sets) as more than just a series of sets. It’s a journey of intention, sound, and shared experience.

Our second sunset ritual features Warsaw-based duo Ewerseen, whose emergence speaks volumes about where house music is headed. Authentic voices are rising from unexpected places—creating new dialogues between cultures, genres, and generations.

A New Geography of Sound

Afro House has traditionally been shaped by South and West African roots and carried through global hubs like London, Berlin, and Ibiza. But today, some of the most interesting conversations in the genre are emerging far beyond those expected cities.

From Warsaw—a city with deep electronic lineage but rarely associated with Afro House—Ewerseen shows us that geography no longer defines authenticity. Like Benchek in Marbella, their connection to the sound is rooted in feeling, not location.

“Combining dynamic rhythms and melodic depth,” they say, Ewerseen crafts immersive tracks that resonate across borders. This isn’t coincidence—it’s cultural awareness, deep listening, and the belief that rhythm speaks a universal language.

Tradition and Innovation in Harmony

Ewerseen’s role in Episode 2 is more than a guest set—it’s a contribution to the broader evolution of the genre. Their releases on labels like Café De Anatolia and QulaqAs reflect a commitment to both tradition and experimentation.

Take their track “Bamako”—a title referencing the capital of Mali. It honors Afro roots while employing a refined, European production style that makes it feel both grounded and contemporary. This isn’t appropriation; it’s participation in a deeper cultural dialogue.

Their track “Soft”—which caught the attention of &ME during a set in Medellín—blends emotive vocals with a distinct sense of atmosphere, striking a chord with both underground and mainstream DJs. Recognition like that reinforces what Chasing Sun(Sets) has always believed: that authenticity cuts through.

What aligns Ewerseen most closely with our ethos is their belief in rising together. Their catalog includes reworks of artists like Timbaland and collaborations with emerging producers, reflecting a generation that values community over competition.
