The Awkwardly Cast is back, bringing you the sounds of @rompagt

As a founding force behind @ghsttwn, Rompa is shaping some of the
most forward-thinking lineups in southern Germany’s club scene while pushing
the boundaries of cutting-edge electronic music through label work. Rooted in
community and driven by experimentation, he curates shows for @radio80000,
oﬀering a raw and unfiltered glimpse into his sonic vision. Sometimes dark and
deconstructed, sometimes fast and relentless, but always riding the razor’s edge
of experimental bass music and beyond.

This mix is an immersion into his evolving soundscape. Nodding to the pulsating
rhythms of Berlin nights while embracing a passion for tripped-out twists, it’s a
high-energy journey through gnarly textures and rave euphoria. Expect plenty of
forthcoming Ghosttown material along the way.

Awkwardly Cast 068 / Rompa

Bringing in Tapes #156 is Kyoto-based DJ and producer, Stones Taro. Known for his unique sound that seamlessly blends breakbeats, UK garage, house, and jungle, Stones Taro has carved out a distinctive place in the global electronic music scene.

As a monthly resident on Rinse FM, he has gained international recognition, with releases on prestigious labels such as Scuffed Recordings, Time Is Now, Hardline, and Future Classic. His DJ sets, characterised by a blend of breakbeats, bass music, dub, and techno, have earned him a dedicated following worldwide. He also co-runs the dance music label NC4K, which continues to release high-quality, unique music that connects Japan and the international music scene.

Awkwardly Cast 069 / Iggy Dope

The Awk Cast turns 70 (!) and we're back with a special edition in the form of this beautiful mixtape by @isthispaun. 

This is a follow-up to the mix featured on Barcelona's Offline Meeting Point. Including some selections by local heroes, it maintains the grimey and experimental mood, while infusing some fun for the season. Summer's in Berlin and we dance under an eclipse. Tracklist to appear on Buy Music Club.

paun is an emerging producer and DJ based in Berlin. Alongside their music, they curate an ambient DJ mix series on Callshop Radio, which has featured notable local DJs like Abibi (Un:seen Berlin), Zapata (Hardmatter Records) and INVERNO (BLVSH/KLEM).

For the next edition of the AWK cast we have Berlin-based artist ZE:NA serving up a fresh blend of UK flavours. Effortlessly oscillating between dubstep, grime, 2step, ukg and more, this mix will certainly lift your spirits, even on the rainiest of summer days!

Remember ZE:NA's name as she's sure bound to make some more big waves in the local scene soon.

We're back with the Awk Cast, excited to bring you the sounds of @berwickjpg 

In this fun and effortlessly flowing mix, the Bristol-based artist decided to showcase some of the wicked artist he's come across over the years, gently meandering between electro, breaks, techno and everything in between.

@bakeymusic settles into a different sonic direction in this hour-long mix, featuring unreleased tracks and plenty of bass power.

"I’ve spent so much time with the album that this mix felt like a good chance to step away from it a bit and dig into some other sounds. It’s less about tying in with the record, and more about where I’m at as a DJ right now. There’s one from the album in here, plus a few unreleased tracks, but mainly it’s just a snapshot of the sounds I’m drawn to at the moment."
