This week we’re proud to present an exclusive set by one of the main Techno Dj’s and producers. Curtis Alan Jones, Green Velvet real name, is one of the first Techno producers and the man behind several Labels since the beginning of the 90’s. While achieving his first successful release as Cajmere, his house alias, it was when he decided to do different things from that house vibe that he became Green Velvet and marked an era with his “Velvet Tracks” (93) on his own Relief Records.
This set was recorded live at Portuguese events promoter NA Events “3rd Anniversary” at Waikiki Beach Club near Lisbon, and it’s a big exclusive of our Magna Recordings Radio Show !

This week we present a very special set recorded last August 30th in a “Back 3 Back” between Carlos Manaça, Miss Sheila and Luis XL Garcia. It was the first time the three played together as a trio, but it was an amazing Tech House night, a Club Therapy & Rebels (Lisbon) event, also with Dub Tiger (from Kremlin Lisbon) and Tiago Filipe.
The venue was “Estação Da Luz” in Aveiro (near Oporto) an historic Club in the Portuguese Dance Scene, where some of the first Raves happened in the 90’s.

On this week episode we’re honored to present 2 of our favorite artists. Chus & Ceballos are a part of Magna Recordings story since our first release in 2000, and Carlos Manaça was one of the co-authors with Chus & Ceballos of Stereo Productions first release in 2001, “The Strong Rhythm”. After that, there were several releases and remixes in both labels, from Carlos on Stereo and Chus & Ceballos on Magna Recordings.

This set was recorded last July 27th at Sound Waves Festival in Esmoriz (Portugal), after Danny Tenaglia and before Carlos Manaça. Sound Waves Festival is one of the biggest electronic festivals in Portugal, this year edition had headliners like Danny Tenaglia, Ben Sims, Nicole Moudaber, Umek, Fernanda Martins, Art Department, among many other artists, in a event than opened at 4pm and ended 11am the next day.

This week we go back to the Summer, to the sunny Algarve in Portugal. This Tech House and Classics set was recorded by Carlos Manaça at Albufeira Water Fest last August 10th, in Albufeira, Portugal, one of the biggest Boat Party’s in Portugal, with dozens of boats that can dance to the music broadcasted by FM by the DJ main boat, in a unique concept. This year it was another sold out event, with 2 catamarans (more than 300 people) plus dozens of private boats, jet sky’s, paddle surfers and a great Flyboard show that made an amazing event.
This year’s line up had Carlos Manaça, DJ China and Sylva Drums & Bruno Zarra in a back to back set.

This set was recorded last December 7th at Miss Sheila “20 Years Of Music” in a great event at Pacha (Ofir) Portugal, that had artists like Pig & Dan, Chus & Ceballos, Coyu, Rafa Barrios, Miss Sheila, Fauvrelle, MC Johnny Def and many other.
This Techno “back 2 back” was after Techno duo Pig & Dan and before Suara boss Coyu.

Magna Recordings Radio Show by Carlos Manaça #51 2019 | Magna Recordings Tracks

Carlos Manaça is one of the main Portuguese DJ’s and producers and has been an essential part of the country’s Underground dance scene since its very beginning. In 2024 celebrated 38 years inside a DJ booth but his DJ schedule is still very busy. He plays mainly in Portugal but also plays in countries like Japan, England, Switzerland, Brazil, Luxembourg, Poland, Croatia, Germany, Mexico, Angola, Mozambique, Russia, USA, Canada and Spain, where he lived from 2002 to 2021. He has now moved back to Portugal.

As a producer his name started to get international exposure in 1995 with his remixes of O.L.N. "Oporto Deep Cuts EP" released on TRIBAL AMERICA (and Tribal UK), one of the main worldwide Labels at the time. His “Reboot 144” (Acid Error Mix) was the A Side of that release and was supported by no other than Danny Tenaglia, among many other artists.

In 1999 founded Magna Recordings, one of the first underground dance Labels in Portugal with releases by Victor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, Richie Santana, Mendo, D-Formation, Natalino Nunes, Stephane K & Koutarou M, Peter Bailey, among many others. In 2001 co-produced the worldwide hit “The Strong Rhythm” with his long time friends Chus & Ceballos, included on “Deep Dish – Global Underground 021: Moscow” CD compilation which gave them their first worldwide success reaching the top of the dance sales charts all over the globe. 

With releases on Labels like SCI+TEC Audio, Stereo Productions, Toolroom, Orange Recordings, Transmit, Otto Music, Kinetika Records, Beat Freak Recordings, Moody Recordings, Kult Records, District Audio and his own Magna Recordings, among many others, Carlos Manaça is more motivated that ever. He still loves delivering his typical Tech House & Techno tribal influenced grooves to the clubbers every weekend, and feels that still has a lot of music to bring to the global Dance Scene.

Being also an Audio Engineer (took his course at the prestigious SAE Institute) and head of Beat Works, in 2022 started as a Mastering teacher at ETIC Lisbon, one of the best and well known audio school’s in Portugal, as well as an invited master class Mastering teacher at Pro-DJ in Oporto.
