Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Canadian producer Rich Oddie ([aufnahme + wiedergabe] / Surface Records).

Rich Oddie has been creating innovative electronic music since the early 1990s, drawing on a wide range of influences that include punk, industrial, techno, and shoegaze. 
His solo productions have been met with critical acclaim, developing an atmospheric mix of ice cold techno, aquatic dub, and industrial abrasion. 
In recent years, Rich has been playing eclectic DJ sets that combine techno, industrial, EBM, electro, and other sources from the history of electronic music.

Sometimes an artist rocks up that suits the vibe of the label so well that it's an absolute given we'll be working together. None fit the ethos of Taro Black more than Null Byte Injection, someone so weird that they cannot even settle on a name. Someone with beats so heavy and thundering, but perfectly left of field, that we just had to take them on. Throw in a slamming techno remix from Blasted and more cascading grit from scene hero IN-JXRX and you have a seriously nails EP.

Opaque Shift Podcast 001 // Mixed by Catacomb [May 18, 2013]

Catacomb is an artist home to Toronto. Inspired through UK, and early Detroit sounds. Hard-edged, raw and organic in taste, set inside a dystopian habitat. This project launched in early 2011, working with Zero-Percent. Getting behind the decks, as a resident DJ and taking the helm in the talent booking department later. Shifting among a city with a wide variety of different scenes and brand events, he found himself turning up respectively. Apart from ZP signatures he played in Detroit and Ann Arbour. Further, being invited to do podcasts for such series held down by Blank Code, DJFM and Tech Support. 

In 2013 he put out Opaque Shift (Shift). The concept behind Shift was to inspire a culture developed around techno, unique to his hometown. Music, that was seeing major waves elsewhere but merely existing in Toronto during the period. Taking up the pen he found himself publishing articles and interviews to Shifts online zine. Some of which, were picked up by Resident Advisor and featured on their site too. Notable artists interviewed included the likes of Perc (UK), Altstadt Echo (DEU), Luis Flores (MEX), Mick Finesse (USA) and Orphx (CAN). 

Shift took on an editor and four brand new artists interested in the particular sound they spread across the city. Noticing they had created a buzz through the content they were releasing, Opaque Shift began throwing their own events and having a hand in others hosted by like-minded groups such as Format, Zero-Percent and Oddsine. Given the opportunity of a monthly residency at the Guvenment (Acid Lounge), Shift was putting out the new artists, curating the lineup for the night. Further, lining up 1-3 gigs for each artist weekly in a plot to spread the idea as far and wide as they were able. After their very 1st self-titled hit party at the Bunker in 2015 they disbanded and put the brand on hiatus.
