Since the launch of their exciting new solo imprint, Hybrid Theory have been on somewhat of a tearout, smashing together the label’s first two official releases with a collection of absolute firecrackers. They are back to business straight away however as they ready up to unveil HT003, featuring another pair of original heaters.  

 

When discussing Hybrid Theory, the word consistency seems to pop up on a pretty regular basis and it is completely valid. Through a combination of their own releases and work behind the scenes at Four40 Records, the duo have been on an incredibly vibrant run.  

 

They continue that on this new release’s A-side, with a track entitled ‘Make It Drip’. This one is most certainly one for the ravers as the Hybrid Theory sound is extended to a more American-influenced take on UK bass music, with this one focussing on bouncy rolling kick drums and sweeping moogy sub tones, topped off with a selection of catchy vocal slices.  

 

The B-side for this one provides us with a fantastic box of energy, as ‘Rekki Dub’ is unleashed. This one takes a very different approach, honing in on a very up-to-date UK bassline sound. From the shuffling drum selections to the explosive synthesizer slaps of the lead bass instrument, this one is a serious party starter, make no mistake about that!

Kelzy is a 23 year old DJ/Producer from Newcastle, Australia. He’s been heavily influenced by the UK Sound ever since discovering it in late 2017 and his sound is influenced by the likes of Skepsis,TS7, Holy Goof and Notion. His take on UK Bass consists of more vocal driven breakdowns with heavy hitting drops and catchy melodies, this is all showcased in his MOVE EP.
As a DJ he strives to keep the crowd entertained and bring something new to all of his sets by presenting a unique, energetic and fun filled set to keep the crowd in the palm of his hand. His career has seen him play clubs and festivals all over Australia alongside some of the best Australian and International acts and DJs These include Corrupt, Darkzy, Sinden, Skepsis,WA-FU just to name a few.
