tribute to Prodigy. 

this is the fleshed out version an early (but, ultimately rejected) downtempo concept for a piece i was contracted to produce that was performed under the Alvin Ailey banner at Lincoln Center.

(the final was hot, too - but the skeleton of this downtempo one was my favorite of all 3 pieces i submitted!)

DJ CEIBA aka BROTHA SEAN is a BRONX-based PUERTO RICAN-American percussionist, composer & DJ. MUSIC & FAMILY are the foundation of his life. Of his gifts and achievements, he will tell you that "...the DRUM has given me EVERYTHING".

DJ CEIBA produces, remixes and spins BASS MUSIC in the form of: DUB, TROPICAL BASS, DUBSTEP, HIP HOP/TRAP, DANCEHALL, & HOUSE MUSIC. A former DUBSPOT music theory and music production instructor, he’s an active composer outside of the underground music scene as well. As DJ CEIBA and under his birth name, D. SEAN CLEMENTS, he’s produced music for movies & documentaries, commercials & A-list choreographers. 

In his alter ego, Brotha Sean, DJ CEIBA studies, performs & teaches traditional Afro-Latin & West African percussion throughout the NYC tri-state area & with his own company, Sacred Drum Productions & major dance/education companies. He has performed drums at SUPERBOWL 48, EL COLISEO in Puerto Rico; the APOLLO & LINCOLN CENTER in NYC; & on the TODAY SHOW. As DJ CEIBA he's worked in SENEGAL,  ETHIOPIA, PUERTO RICO & is coming to a sound near YOU.
