Charles Pierre - New World Sound (Original Mix)

Late last summer, one track dominated the sets of Marco Carola at Music On and beyond. That track was Charles Pierre's 'Moonlight To Sunrise' and we are delighted to deliver to you this masterpiece that's backed with a heavyweight remix from super producer Yousef and Dutch groove maestro Rob Stillekens.

Lead track 'Moonlight To Sunrise' is a unique slice of modern day house music with its grooving, funk laden intro and atmospheric percussion droplets, bouncing around the 70s-esque filtered bassline. Merge this with Charles' own special vocal delivery and what you have here will be one of this year's stand-out tracks.

The first of two sublime remixes comes from Liverpool's legendary DJ/Producer Yousef. Here Yos rips the storybook up and transforms the original into a peak time banger, with elasticated rises that utilise Charles' vocal delivery around a crescendo of uplifts and hedonistic rhythms that, on the drop, explode with typical Yousef brilliance. This one will go beyond the big rooms to festival stages. We are sure of that.

Next up, Dutch producer Rob Stillekens shows why he's on the radar of the big labels by delivering a punchy, groove-based remix that perfectly fits itself around the vocal with its driving bass lead and cleverly placed drops and rises. A superb addition to the package from Rob.

Closing out the EP, Charles drops 'Feel This Way', a proper party starter of a track with its Disco edges and filtered loops, combining in harmony with the feel good vibe and almost spoken word vocal. A perfect closer for what will be one of the standout EP's at this year's MMW and beyond.

Franky Rizardo takes the reigns on an outstanding Remix of Charles Pierre's 'Moonlight To Sunrise'. Late last summer, we sent out the Original to a selected handful of DJ's. Franky was one of those who received it, and it quickly became his go-to track for those big moments. 

We were absolutely delighted when he reached out and asked for the parts to put his twist on the incredible Original. 

Now, after it being one of the most sought after remixes on the scene, we deliver it to you in time for those summer sessions.

Franky sprinkles his own unique soundscapes to the mix, taking it a more house feel but retaining the essence of the original with the vocals playing a big part. It's good that Marco has been closing his sets with it!

A musical purist in terms of inspiration, Charles Pierre draws from soul, funk, disco, hip-hop, r&b and many other genres to catalyse his thoughts and galvanise new works. Outside of originals and remixes, he is also building a solid rep via the medium of recycling seminal pieces of music and putting his stamp on things in the form of Charles Pierre edits - with impressive effect.

His sound is heavily influenced by groove-focused tech house, championing distinctive and memorable bass melodies combined with layers of dance-inducing percussive factors. If you were to compare his sonic signature, it has many striking similarities to that of Joey Daniel, wAFF and Marco Carola - something that becomes quickly apparent when you look at Charles’ release catalogue and the ethos behind the labels he has signed music with.

Since landing a standout release on Solid Grooves in 2017, Charles has gained the support of a plethora of industry peers including the likes of Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Steve Lawler, Latmun, Solardo, Michael Bibi, PAWSA, Wade and of course Marco Carola himself.

With many of the game’s major players frequently supporting Charles, it’s no surprise that he has already graced the majority of London’s most revered venues including Ministry of Sound, Printworks, Studio 338, E1, The Steelyard and more. Outside of his UK exposure, Charles has also appeared on the White Isle, most notably in the form of a b2b2b with Michael Bibi and Franz Costa on his debut for Solid Grooves at Benimussa Park.

Charles’ impressive resume has seen him play alongside the likes of PAWSA, Reelow, Dennis Cruz, Cuartero, Hector Couto, Neverdogs, ANOTR, Detlef, Nathan Barato and many more. What he has already achieved makes a worthy accomplice to what is yet to come, with several key releases on major labels and high-profile performances in the pipeline for the not too distant future.
