Happy Pride! Summer is here in the U.S., and I am feeling the collective joy in the atmosphere. As we reflect on the contributions our forebears have made so that we can enjoy the freedom and acceptance that many of us enjoy today, I wanted to pay tribute to the tea dance, which was first created in Fire Island in the 1960s. I hope to carry on this distinctly American style of music and event well into the future. There's nothing like soaking up the afternoon sun surrounded by friends and great music. But for all the pop girlie connoisseurs out there, it bops along summin' fun! Also, I haven't been able to get the new Avicii documentary, "Avicii - I'm Tim," out of my head since watching it last month. So, this set opens and closes with a little tribute to him. Inspired by the disco sounds of Fire Island tea dances and big room vocal house, DJ Charlie B brings a funky groove to the dancefloor for everyone. His mixes are influenced by his travels in the global club scene and his upbringing in Philadelphia and New York City.
