I don't care how many times I've heard a beat, when it locks into a groove with a great bass line, it's magical.  Although I was yet to be born when these records were released in the 70's, good music has no shelf life.

I have a special affinity for music from the 70's because it seemed like everybody had something to say in their own unique way and if you were whack, people would spot it right away because there was so much quality work being done in all genres.  To illustrate my point, the following are just a few artists who released albums in 1976: AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Earth, Wind & Fire, Sly & The Family Stone, Patti Smith, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Alice Cooper, Marvin Gaye, Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin, The Residents, Frank Zappa, Santana.  It's no wonder punk rock stormed onto the scene in 1977!
