Amsterdam’s Luuk Van Dijk lands on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this July with ‘The First Time EP’. 

Releasing on the likes of Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, and his own Dark Side Of The Sun label, DJ/producer Luuk Van Dijk arrives on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax imprint for the first time with the aptly titled ‘The First Time EP’. 

‘The First Time’ leads the release with snaking acid lines and snappy drums featuring vocals from Newcastle singer/songwriter and Hot Creations affiliate Mizbee, whose previous collaborators include the likes of Jansons, Maxinne, Supernova, and more. ‘Jus’ Listen’ follows, opening with airy pads and choppy percussion, with piano chords and bouncing low-end keeping up momentum. 

‘Up North’ sees an amalgamation of glitched-out FX and warbling bass meet delicate atmospherics for a trippy late-night house jam, before ‘Don’t Mess’ closes the EP with bubbling synth hits, rolling basslines, and vocal chops.

PIV039 comes from Birmingham-based duo Ruze. Known for their dedication towards dynamically driven basslines, it seems only right that "Mindset" kickstarts this package in infectious ways. Welcoming a wealth of global talent to date, the next release brings something special as he digs even deeper to launch the label’s Scholarship initiative - supporting new artists from across the globe with advice, mentoring, initiatives and a platform to showcase their work.

Introducing Pedro Borlado. Born in Madrid but now based in the US, the newcomer is an artist whose sound reflects an artist well beyond his years. An avid digger, embracing wide-reaching influences and pockets of genres within his sets, here he showcases his studio work for the very first time as he unveils his debut production as the first artist to release on Up The Stuss’ new sub-label with his four-track ‘First Light’ EP.

Bringing one of 2024’s most notable basslines alongside swirling synths and skippy drums, title cut ‘First Light’ sets the tone from the off. ‘Pleasure Pallet’ balances acid tones and warping sonics, while ‘Seeking Infinity’ harnesses hazy grooves and snaking percussion amongst playful arrangements. Add in closing cut ‘E700’, loaded with machine funk and pumping low-ends, and you get a stand-out debut from a name you’ll be hearing much more of in the coming years.
