Godfather’ - ‘Legend’ - ‘International Hero’. All accolades attributed by loving fans Worldwide to the DJ, Producer and scene pioneer known as ‘Slipmatt’. Anyway, on to the Hard Trance & Old Skool DJ, Chuck-E, who has now ‘retired’ from the dance music scene.

Wales’ premier Hard Trance DJ, Chuck-E, has enjoyed a long illustrious career in the hard dance scene, spanning back 26 years, to 1997. Originally playing Old Skool hardcore & Drum & Bass is his bedroom, progressing on to the Hard Trance sound he is known for today.

His resume contains headline shows in countries including South Korea, Australia, Holland, and Norway, as well as holding many residencies over the years, at events such as Breathe, GBH, Sugar, Trancefusion, The Square, and Panic Room. 

He was one of the most frequently booked DJs at the mighty Bionic events and has played guest slots for virtually every major and well-respected Hard Dance promotor in England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland, with Frantic, Goodgreef, Storm, Ministry of Sound, HTID, Tranzaction, Westfest, Escape into the Park, Back To The Future, Concept, Ripsnorter, North, and Sanctuary Festival, all included on extensive the list.

The triumphant 2005-2012 partnership with Jon the Baptist (coined by UK hard dance kings Frantic as ‘The UK’s number 1 Hard Trance Team) would see them set up the hugely popular ‘Intolerance Recordings’ imprint to showcase the bulk of their studio creations, alongside being signed to the massive ‘Future Sound Corporation’ label in Italy, releasing hits such as ‘Magic’ - ‘A new hope’ and remixing for the legendary Yoji Biomehanika. 

Career accolades include winning the national PYP DJ competition, plus joining Kutski for a special guest feature on BBC Radio 1 and having his ‘Science Fiction’ album release party at the mighty 55,000 strong ‘Defqon1’ festival, run by Q-dance in the Netherlands, in which his track ‘What is reality’ featured on their DVD release.

Chuck-E has never been one to ‘follow the crowd’ - always looking to be original in the way he plays and performs, his energetic showmanship and crowd-pleasing personality combine perfectly with his unique and diverse sets, making him one of the most popular DJs on the circuit. Although known as – and predominantly a Hard Trance DJ (being a huge ambassador of the sound) expect things to be mixed up relentlessly, with the full spectrum of Hard Trance on display, sprinkled with Bootlegs and varied edits from the Hard Techno & Electro, Schranz, Drum & Bass and Hardcore scenes.

With him retiring from DJ’ing, music, and the everyday tasks of the scene 8 years ago, due to tinnitus and ear problems, he has recently returned to the digital turntables, and we are accepting a select number of gigs
