Complex has been collecting records since childhood and was raised in a house filled with books, films and music from all styles and era, from classic broadway musicals, film soundtracks and big band swing to The Beatles, Deodato, Issac Hayes, Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass, Bee Gees and classic Aussie Rock.  With his parents having been mobile dj's when in their twenties (Dad built the dj console and played records while mum handled mic duties) vinyl has always played a important part in Complex's life and from an early age a love for music & martial arts has continued to grow into somewhat of an obsession.
 
This was solidified in the eighties with his immersion in the (then) fledgling hip hop culture starting with breaking and making tape loops and edits (miss those tape battles!). After doing his best to emulate the flawless B-Boy funk of high school friend and mentor, legendary style master HAMS (DIE), Complex quickly came to the realisation that no visually artistic genes were ever passed down from his artist mum and that out of respect to the art of graffiti it was best to pour his energies into his first love - music.
 
He has continued to follow his passion for collecting and sharing music ever since and has been fortunate to have travelled the globe getting dusty fingers in a relentless search for music that matters - from hip hop, soul, funk, jazz and just about everything else in between.
 
Complex has had a long career in Radio that started back in the mid eighties in djing and hosting a show on the high school radio station (which was built by his Dad) playing hip hop (and real electro!) and eighties classics (Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Power Station, The Models etc).
 
From there Complex made his way to the infamous 4ZZZ Phat Tape Hip Hop Radio Show (The longest running hip hop radio show in Australia - over 20yrs)  in 1997 in a part time capacity with DJ Katch (Resin Dogs/HydroFunk,BBoy Allstars), then in 1999 took over the reins with Sean B (The Statesmen) post DjKatch’s departure. After some 7 years solid with the addition of DJ DCE (750 Rebels / Karsinogenics.com CEO) Complex took leave from the show at the close of 2004, returning in 2008 to the airwaves to host with Chubba Dubbed (Karsinogenics). 

A seasoned club Dj devoted to true hiphop and the art of Djing, Complex solidified his position in the Australian Hiphop scene among the A-Listers with his style on heavy rotation both in the club and on air.
 
Complex has worked in the industry in many capacities, from Tour DJ for seminal Breakbeat act FaTTDExx, Co-Host / DJ on Radio Metro ... to behind the scenes roles with Hydrofunk Records and most recently Karsniogenics as well as collaborating with the likes of Blunted Stylus (Jigsaw Geoff), 2Dogs / Resin Dogs, Don Nadi & Fatt Dexx in production and scratch duties.

Complex has been blessed to perform recently at the hugely successful Manila Music Festival, Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival in Puerto Galera (Philippines) along side DJ Krush  and Korea's Gongmyoung. He has also performed at major festivals in Australia including Livid, Big Day Out, Summer Field Dayze, Good Vibrations, Newtown Festival and Brisbane's Valley Fiesta alongside countless acts both national and international such as DJ JAZZY JEFF, DJ KRUSH, MIX MASTER MIKE, DJ CRAZE, SCRATCH PERVERTS, DJ RIP ONE, MNEMONIC ASCENT,BRAD STRUT,LYRICS BORN, SCRIBE, HILLTOP HOODS, KOOLISM, RESIN DOGS and many more.

Complex is also responsible for co-founding the legendary Heavy Boogie crew with DJ Kristian Hernandez producing the Breathe & Stop and Laced Up tours for adidas Originals across 6 countries in South East Asia performing alongside legendary dj’s SHORTKUT (Beat Junkies, ISP, Triple Threat), MASEO (De La Soul), ALI SHAHEED MUHAMMAD (Tribe Called Quest), APOLLO (Triple Threat, ISP), VINROC (Triple Threat, 5th Platoon) and TONY TOUCH (Rock Steady Crew).
 
Known for his extremely musical interpretation of hip hop, funk, soul and jazz and a "All Killer - No Filler" ethic to presenting music you can always expect a Complex performance leaving you with that nagging thought in the back of your mind  - "... damn, i need to know the name of that song"
