Issey Cross feat Tino Attila - Sleepwalking (Wild Pack Remix)

Melded into a semi 90's DJ Première style beat. With breaks taken from Cymatics (Times Up) and KSHMR.

Lyric wise I based it on the brief "Sleepwalking is about coping, longing for a place, a feeling or a person that shelters you from the pressures and the burden of external expectations and judgement. In the song, Sleepwalking is a lyrical and visual metaphor for how we can be 'getting through' our days on autopilot without being present"

So I took that information and flipped in it my usual way and used a few key terms from the brief. The middle 16 was originally a rap also but sounded better sung. I think it helped to make the song a little bit longer. As we were only working from an acapella that was about a minute long. 

My Lyrics:
Eyes open, clock ticking, next day on repeat 
Sun streams through the blinds, feel the pressure in my feet 
Coffee fumes ignite, another mask I paint on tight 
Headspace full of noise, drown it out with  all my might
Moving through the motions, autopilot like a drone 
Smiling for the cameras, feelings tucked away unknown 
Chasing expectations, building castles made of sand 
One wave of judgement, leaves me empty in the land

Concrete jungle roars, symphony of stress and haste 
Eyes glazed over, another day I barely taste 
Longing for a sanctuary, a refuge from the storm 
Where judgment melts like snowflakes, a place where I am  warm
Maybe it's a memory, a melody from long ago 
Or a person's gentle touch, a feeling soft and slow 
Whatever it may be, a beacon in the night 
Guiding me back home, where my weary soul takes flight

But when the city sleeps, I find solace in the dark 
Sleepwalking through my dreams, leaving footprints in the park 
No deadlines, opinions, whispers in the breeze 
Find myself again, beneath the rustling winter trees
Close my eyes and slip away, into the velvet shade 
Drift in to a world where burdens fade 
Aching for a reprieve, a moment to simply be 
A soul to set free, finally feeling truly me
