Slovenian DJ and producer Matevz Crocy aka Crocy knows no bounds when it come to top quality productions and remixes as he always delivers the goods, and then some. His last release 'Rotten Hour' is currently doing the rounds and getting much attention. On the remix here Crocy beefs up the sound with chunky kicks and a wonderful deep infectious bass that forces those hips to sway. Super tight percussions provide a solid rhythm as the occasional synth makes an appearance. Aside from that bass the next big focus here is the use of the vocals, they are used perfectly and really set the track off brilliantly, cracking stuff and a must for those groovy late night parties.

 Crocy is first at hand to offer his remix skills and what a job he does here. Crocy's remix takes on a very smooth and subtle groove, the kicks give off a cool laidback feel with a big punch and sit so well with the expertly crafted bass riffs. The vocal comes through beautifully here adding a richness to the sound and is accompanied by some nice, distant melodies thanks to a lovely piano sound. Wonderfully deep vibes here and a definite must for those late night sets. For those who would like to leave the vocal behind we also have an instrumental mix from Crocy.

Always something new, right? My good friend Tom Costo lent me his ZOOM Q8 camera, but I don’t think it quite fits my needs. In my setup, it doesn’t deliver a clear video. I'm still capturing audio with my trusty Korg mini KAOSS PAD 2. Any suggestions for a better camera? I’m going to invest in proper camera. Enough is enough.

Crocy @ Lost Bay Beach Bar, Croatia (2025_06)

The original mix of Mind opens up with a solid kick and cool hats and cymbals that set the scene for a very dancey groove. A short vocal snippet leads up to the wonderfully rich bassline that becomes a big focus on the track and the main drive throughout. Sweet melodic piano sequences are the perfect accompaniment to the beautifully weighted vocal performance from Ashley. Another superb progressive cut from Crocy that will gain a lot of attention no doubt.

Crocy returns and gives us another one of his deep progressive house remixes that tantalises the musical taste buds. The remix sets off with a cool chunky kick and equally cool crispy hats and rhythmic drums. A gritty bassline courses through the sound and stands in contrast to the bright melodic strings that swell up early on. The track takes on a real deep progressive edge before heading into the break where a beautifully arranged ensemble of strings rings out to lull us into their grasp. After a subtle climax we are thrust back into the main groove to get those booty's shakin' once more. Top notch from Crocy yet again, the perfect addition to any set.

Rise And Fall - Looking Forward (Crocy Remix)

Passion can only be described as a pure, deep progressive and warm groover. Bubbling basslines and rhythmic drum patterns combine beautifully to the backdrop of an outstanding vocal from Ashley. Subtle melodies lace the groove but it's that bassline that does the damage with its super rhythmic pattern that just forces you to move. Fantastic stuff that is not to be missed.

We continue our special 25 Years remix series with another inspiring classic cut from the archives. This time Crocy gets to grips with the fantastic Scorpia from Belgian DJ and producer (and legend) Marco Bailey. This 1996 gem was Marco's first foray into the Bonzai world. A pumping instant classic that rocked out many venues in its day. With its distinct Bonzai sound, this one slotted beautifully into many sets, easily crossing over the techno/trance boundary. The original release also included three other top notch cuts Tyrex, Bambu and Sunbeam which made for a very desirable must-have-track. On the remix we find one of modern day Bonzai's most prolific artists - Crocy. This guy has given us a plethora of quality cuts over the years and is an integral part of what the Bonzai sound represents today. He began his musical career back in 1992 when he was attending musical school in his hometown. He played the accordion for seven years and travelled through different genres of music, which influences his performances even now. An experienced DJ, Crocy embraced the digital world and all the possibilities it brings while holding on to his analogue past. His many years as an artist are evident in his tracks and sets and his last outing for Bonzai Progressive - Passion - tells that tale.

On the remix Crocy gives us his progressive twist on a retro sound and the result is this stunning slice. The intro boasts a nice and chunky kick drum offset by crispy hi hats and shuffling percussions. A gritty synth bass lurks which is joined by mesmeric pads and a rising melodic arp. The main bassline drops and the track lifts off settling us into the solid progressive groove. On the break we are treated to a dosing of those superb synths and the classic Scorpia melody that made the track so famous. The original sounds are recreated beautifully in a contemporary style, this gives the track a timeless feel which would work perfectly in any set. A definite must have track for the veterans and the up-and-comers alike.

Crocy shows up here on remix duties, offering up his wealth of experience to take the original in a slightly different direction. A veteran in the new Bonzai era, Crocy always delivers no matter what he touches. Here on the remix he notches up the energy levels with a powerful intro filled with pounding beats and rhythmic percussions. In the background a subtle pad pulsates while arpeggios fade in. After a mini climax a meandering bassline warms up the low end enhancing the groove beautifully. The vocal adds character to the sound making this an absolute must have track for sure.

Wolfson - To Loose (Crocy Remix) [Bonzai Progressive]

One of our most prolific artists is back with another fine example of quality progressive house music. Crocy delivers the sublime Mosquito which comes backed up with two remixes from F-Act and Andrew Lewis. Last time our we saw Crocy produce a fantastic remix of Wolfson’s Too Loose which gained great support across the board. An integral part of the Bonzai family, Crocy’s work always draws attention and, not only for his studio work but also for his DJ skills. Keep an eye out for more from this talented artist.

The Original Mix offers a deep and provocative trek into progressive as chunky beats and shuffling hats drive a dark and mysterious groove. A plucky bass controls the low end while sharp synth hits slice through the deeper elements. On the break a wonderfully strange melody played out on an ancient instrument captivates, taking us even deeper into the groove. A solid cut that is not to be missed.

The formidable Bonzai stalwart Crocy is up on remix duties and it comes as no surprise that he unleashes another belter of a track. Crocy recently treated us to his outstanding track Mosquito a few months ago and, it is this kind of quality that we have witnessed time and time again from him. This one is no exception, he sets off with a very nice thumping kick drum that pounds a solid beat into your chest. Steering towards the deeper echelons of progressive house, the groove is beefed up with a deep, sultry bassline that meanders through the sound. Groovy synths work the mids and high sections creating a vibrant, edgy track that will most definitely light up the floors.

It's been a while since Crocy graced us with his formative remixing skills. Last time out he gave us a superb effort on Stan Kolev's Utopia which followed the impressive, Mosquito. Crocy has never failed to impress in the many years we've been lucky enough to have him at Bonzai Progressive. His talents know no bounds as he continues to delight his fans with mystical and magical sounds. Always an exciting time when he sends through his work and we've no doubt there will be much more to come. Here, Crocy delivers a classic punchy kick and crispy hi hat arrangement with exotic percussions following suit. A deep chugging bassline is the centrepiece while airy synths and rich melodies provide the musical backdrop. Superb stuff once again.
