why do you need 24 bit and 96 kHz?? you could run this with 8 or 16 bit and hear no difference....its a chip tune would sound even more authentic maybe

happy new year everyone!

in 2021, i graduated in june with a BS in chemistry and soon after began working at my first full-time professional job. clearly, the past five years of undergrad put a strain on my will to continue the music i've been making since middle school, and keeping up with the online communities i've embraced pretty much since then as well.

i've known full-well that even during my years of pseudo-inactivity, music is something that i will return to time and time again as my passion, no matter how often it waxes and wanes.

being 23 now, change is a very frequent part of my life in pretty much all facets i can think of, which is as exciting as it is chaotic. this year, i hope to rely on music to ground me in my personal chaos, as it's been a comfort of mine that i've indulged in since the age of 11. even after straying away, coming back to OpenMPT never feels foreign.

this year i will devote more time to my music endeavors. working a 9-5 makes me realize how valuable my time is; how i need to really block out time to sit down and create amid balancing my work life, social life, and sleep. it's been a challenge so far, but still very manageable, and fun! it's quite rewarding to have it all feel adequately balanced.

new years is probably my favorite holiday, for symbolizing a fresh start which encourages change. the identity of a musician is something i've shied away from in recent years, and i aim to change that this year. so let me hold myself accountable in this statement, and please enjoy this little tune :-) i think i doodled up the main melody for this song sometime in like 2019, so it's been a long time coming!!! (i think i actually started truly composing a song out of it in december though :P)

thank you all for your continued support and encouragement. every little snippet i've posted on twitter, and occasional OHC upload over the past period of general inactivity has been met with excitement and anticipation for more music to come. it truly touches me to see it, and it only motivates me to keep on at it.
