MeowMeow & BowWow is the second EP in the series of video game tribute albums by Dj CUTMAN and Spamtron. Their first collaboration was Bagu and the Riverman, which later became the seed for The Triforce of Bass. Now, the duo has turned their focus to the classic title for Nintendo Gameboy, Link's Awakening. 

Dj CUTMAN writes: 
We selected seven songs that represented the significant steps in Link's journey, from awakening on the mysterious island of Koholint, to rediscovering his legendary weapon, traversing the country side, traveling through forests and dungeons, and climbing a mountain to meet the fabled Wind Fish. 

If you're familiar with the game, you'll take extra pleasure in listening to the album in-sequence. If you didn't play Link's Awakening, I hope you can still derive the sense of adventure and excitement the game created for me.

Pokémon Black & White - Icirrus City (Arrangement)

This is an arrangement by myself and my bassist friend Wild_Cat, featuring 4 themes chosen from the Gunstar Heroes (Sega Genesis) soundtrack, originally composed by Norio Hanzawa for Treasure : "The End of Battle - To Out World", "Last Party on the Moon", "Empire - The Final Assault" and finally "The Legend of Gunstars".

I put this song together in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Dwelling Of Duels, in October 2013, hence the reference in the title. It scored 3rd place, within an amazing bunch of 53 entries, that was a memorable event, and Wild_Cat and I are proud that we could be part of it.

The entire arrangement is a tribute to 10 years of live video game music celebration (I for myself have been a regular entrant for 9 years), filled with hard work and fun. From the very core, it's designed to tell, in a very embellished way, what happens in one given occurrence of this contest.

Part 1 - 0:00 : Unknown musicians from all over the world gather in a single place.
Part 2 - 1:55 : Together, they celebrate video game music, and have a lot of fun playing it live.
Part 3 - 3:51 : But it soon turns into epic battle, because these people are very strong at what they do.
Part 4 - 5:25 : In the aftermath, they congratulate each other, and leave behind them amazing music for all to enjoy.

Club Kong is six remixes that sounds like an electronic jungle jazz club, with production by halc and Dj CUTMAN. 

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Donkey Kong Country's release. Receiving high praise from gamers and critics alike, Donkey Kong Country became the second-best selling Super Nintendo game of all time. It spawned several popular sequels for Super Nintendo and was revived for the Wii in 2010 as Donkey Kong Country Returns. 

The original Donkey Kong Country soundtrack, written by beloved video game composer David Wise, was released under the title DK Jamz. Described as atmospheric "jungle music", the soundtrack features a wide range of musical styles blended with natural environmental sounds. Club Kong works popular melodies from the Donkey Kong Country series into a modern jazz fusion arrangement. Like stepping into electronic Donkey Kong jazz club, this artistic re-imagination will captivate gamers and electronic music fans alike. 

Club Kong brings together a powerhouse team of talent from the video game music scene. The album is produced by Drew Wheeler, also known as Halc. Halc is best known for his work with OverClocked Remix, contributing to thirteen albums since 2007. He is also the founder of 9-bit Records, a label that combines 8-bit sounds and modern electronic production. Club Kong is Halc's second album with GameChops. The album is introduced by popular youtube comedian Brentalfloss, and the album is mastered by video game remixer and founder of GameChops, Dj CUTMAN. 

The album is timely given the upcoming release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, the fifth installment in the Donkey Kong Country series. Club Kong is sure to generate excitement for the upcoming game in old fans and newcomers to the series. Tropical Freeze will be available for WiiU in on February 21st.

We are the team behind 2013's acclaimed Secret of Mana tribute album: Spectrum of Mana. Chronicles of Time is our highly-anticipated tribute to Chrono Trigger: 5 Discs and 75 tracks long, 2 years in the making.

This project is a world wide collaboration between over 200 artists within VGM communities such as Dwelling of Duels, OverClocked ReMix, and many live bands, who expertly re-imagine the beloved SNES-era RPG soundtrack originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, Nobuo Uematsu, and Noriko Matsueda.

The album's five discs are sorted by Chrono Trigger's time eras:
- Prehistory (Rock, fun, Primal)
- Antiquity (Synthesized, adventurous, Magical)

These eras cover a wide swath of genres and feature performances from a diverse range of talent including: Stemage (Metroid Metal), CarboHydroM (Extra Credits), professional composers Alexander Brandon and Dale North, William Carlos Reyes and Tim Yarbrough (The OneUps), and VGM cover bands Arc Impulse, Super Soul Bros., Videri String Quartet, Descendants of Erdrick, Eight Bit Disaster, Super Guitar Bros., Marshall Art, and MANY MORE.

Chronicles of Time also includes a collection of over 50 pieces of lovingly crafted artwork by 13 different artists, depicting the game's most memorable scenes and characters. This project was organized by veteran game industry animator and visual artist Nate Horsfall. Representing two years of dedicated work from hundreds of people to pay triute to one of the greatest games of all time.

Sorry for the long hiatus between posts! Right now, I'm focusing on my book. I'm probably going to redo this from scratch as parts of it don't really 'work' for me, but we'll see. (I mean, I ripped myself off with the guitar solo towards the end. Oof.)
I do hope you enjoy this WIP off of an album due sometime next year. (Read: After The Bad Friend releases, which is going to be a while away, 'cause the book comes first!) This track is off the next of the 'Capel Albums' as I've taken to calling them -- the first of which was Planet Aloha.

I wanted to go for a different mood here. Much more mysterious, dark, and thoughtful. After all, this is the plant that can change an entire planet's ecosystem and it stretches out for miles. Everything from monsters to pirates seems to want to find a way inside -- or worse. Capel doesn't get to enter often, unless the plant is in dangerous. The place scares her.
Made this pretty much entirely with the Korg M1 and Tal-u-no-LX, mostly the former.
