Get Lost is fast becoming one of LA’s favorite late summer rituals, a bewitching day and night session, gathering the city’s Rebel Ravers, discerning dance-heads, and those adventurous pilgrims about to set off for the Black Rock desert.

This August, Get Lost returns to the other-worldly environs of the Egyptian Theatre – a venue steeped in the era of a bygone civilization; a bastion of mysticism, spirits, Gods and Demons. At a time when US mainstage dance music becomes ever more bombastic, these themes of spirituality have increasingly come to define the dance floor explorations of Lazarus and his Crosstown Rebels crew, notably on Lazarus’ forthcoming live album project.

It is fitting then that Get Lost LA will see the introduction of a brand new sonic experiment from Lazarus, four DJs casting one truly magic spell. Wizardry: The Get Lost Afterhours will feature Acid Pauli, Damian Lazarus, DJ Tennis and Three playing back-to-back all night at Create after the opening set from DAVI. Anyone who has caught Acid Pauli’s 18 hour sets at Berlin’s iconic Bar 25, sampled the punk-techno and disco of Life and Death’s revered founder DJ Tennis, or been aware of Three’s historic impact on the US dance scene will know that this trio alongside Damian Lazarus, is a set not to be missed. Dance floor Wizardry at its finest.

In 2014 Crosstown Rebels celebrates its twelfth years of existence. Damian Lazarus’ current release ‘Lover’s Eyes’, which saw him collaborate with three Pakistani Qawwali singers, is burning up charts and danceloors, and is the first single from his forthcoming live album project Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons. Crosstown Rebels also just announced the third installment of its Day Zero Festival in Mexico on January 10, previous installments have featured the likes of Massive Attack, Mathias Aguayo, Trentemoller, Jamie Jones, Art Department, Simian Mobile Disco, Tiga and more.

In 2014 the label has also had releases from Ali Love, Felix da Housecat’s iconic alias Aphrohead, Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, Ida Engberg and Mineo, ensuring Crosstown Rebels continues its twelfth year like every other, at the coal face of bleeding edge underground dance music.

Having caught the ears of many progressive fans with his remix of Underworld's 'Two Months Off' on 'Anjunadeep:03', rising US producer DAVI is invited to add his unique magic to two 16 Bit Lolitas gems.



First up, is 'Calling New York'. Full of deep grooves and washing synths, DAVI's version is a hypnotic but uptempo tech-house workout that will get dancefloors pumping every time. As the energy levels bubble, DAVI introduces a washing melodic breakdown before kicking back in to gear with his tweakin' tech groove. 



Taking on '6 O' Clock' next, DAVI conjures a gorgeously trippy progressive gem that captures the hypnotic energy of a 6am dancefloor perfectly. Building waves of groove and synths into an epic crescendo, DAVI's remix reenergises this 16 Bit Lolitas gem for 2011 in fine style. Two contrasting examples of a producer that is bound to go far in the tech and progressive scene.

Richie Hawtin has never been one to shy away from minimalism throughout his career. He practically defined the genre as Plastikman. But now with his ENTER. series of parties, the “less is more” mantra is totally out the window; more is most definitely what is more. ENTER. ran every Thursday at the famed Space in Ibiza this past summer, and the list of talent who have graced the decks for the Canadian techno ambassador is nothing short of mind-boggling.

Hawtin will be bringing the ENTER. experience to Escape: All Hallows’ Eve for not one but two nights of underground debauchery, and though Hawtin himself is the only one playing both nights, he certainly didn’t skimp on surrounding talent. Die-hard techno fans will not be disappointed with heavyweight stalwarts Loco Dice and Luciano on the docket, as well as a stable of Minus talent. House fans need not fret, as there is also a Get Lost-y thing happening with Damian Lazarus and some of his finest cohorts rounding out the lineup. And just because, there’s MK.

But it’s Richie Hawtin who is most certainly at the apex of a long and storied ascent. There really is no other name in dance music that captures the hearts and minds of so many fans across the spectrum. It might be considered “underground” here in the US, but it’s anything but around the world, especially to the clubgoers who once again overran the small island off the coast of Spain to get a taste of what Richie was serving up at Space.

Never restricted by the boundaries of genre, the title track is highly mystifying as it resonates a distinct middle eastern tone through the infectious melody and layered atmosphere. The release also features the stunning ‘Eclipse’ which follows suit taking you on a deep melodic journey, filled with warm tones, vibrant strings and a solid bassline.

(10 bonus points to all of you who realised the anagram) This ongoing project is where we ask friends of the label to cast their magic over our back catalogue. And what a bumper package Volume 3 has turned out to be.

Nicolas Massayeff gets to grips with Jaap Ligthart & Alice Rose, Davi tackles Marc Marzenit, Darin Epsilon & CID Inc take on Robert Babicz, Conecte breathe new life into Dimitri Nakov & B-Vision and finally Chris Fortier gets busy on himself. So to speak ;-)

All in all, it’s a cast to be reckoned with. Highly recommended and most definitely worth of your undivided attention, lend us your ears. You won’t regret it.
