An album made by Victor and me, coming from a shared interest in 90s breakbeats. It has four tracks that shift from calm atmospheres to steady rhythms. The opera mix is quiet and spacious, built from tones rather than beats. The space mix adds drive, with breaks, basslines and touches of acid. The club mix keeps things grounded and direct. Victor’s Hypnotoad mix ties it together in a way that works both at home and in the club.

For iBreaks 79 we welcome back Estonian breakster Sunsha with a double header release of pure breaks mayhem.

“Noize Generation” goes unashamedly for the “hands in the air” vibe from the outset with a  huge in your face synth line underpinned by a driving kick and snare and subtle Apache licks.  This one’s got a real 90s vibe about it, all the while remaining totally current in production value.  Peak-time breaks with a major rave influence!

On “You Gonna Take This”, Sunsha goes on a more electro tangent for mid-set tastiness.  Dirty synth bass and rolling beats drive towards an eerie lead synth mid-section before dropping back into the hypnotic groove.  Some lovely vocal shouts throughout give some added hype and movement.

We start the re-launch proceedings with what can only be described as a Breaks Anthem. Hoffman’s debut release caught the scene by storm.

Everybody is a gritty rolling track with a crunchy bassline to fend off the most discerning of chin strokers. When the vocal drops, nobody is safe.
 
The flip, “Cum With Me”, drags the release further into the depths of darkness. The porno-rave samples, coupled with the growling angry bass make it a force to be reckoned with.

RUNE130: Mechanical Pressure — Contact Remixed LP — is the first album from a series of anniversary releases that marks the 10-year anniversary of RUNE Recordings.

In 2020, we celebrate the first decade in the history of our label. At a time when RUNE Recordings remains one of the latest labels promoting breaks, we want to present our community all the variety of this genre in the next ten releases.

The album of remixes on the tracks of our leading resident — Mechanical Pressure — consists of twelve remixes made by artists from England, Germany, Spain, USA, Hungary, Latvia, Belarus, and Ukraine. We sincerely hope that everyone will find out several tracks to their taste because there is all the variety of styles from progressive- and tech-breaks to amen break and neurofunk drum'n'bass.

In co-creativity of artist-label-listener, everyone wins. And although this is not about money, we will not tire of doing what we love. 🖤

The mighty DeiBeat is funkin' things up again, this time with his new single The Funky Sound. Setting the stage with an 808 kick, a chunky snare, melodic piano stabs, and the lead male vocal, DeiBeat rolls the track into the first break down where he layers in a female vocal and funky synth. At the drop we are introduced to a subsonic bass line that rides along with pulsating waves, accompanied by some new vocoded vocal elements. The drop on this jam is pure fire, another breakbeat masterpiece from a master of the genre.

Detach - Dj, producer and promoter from Khabarovsk, Russia. Young man became involved in breakdance and hip-hop culture since being 14. Detach gained authority for 10 years of dancing as Bboy Vanish, but then his priorities changed, and he started devoting attention to DJing. 
His DJ career started in 2005, since then Detach already played on big and small events in different cities of Russian Far East. He has won respects from auditory and became a welcome guest on every Breaks and Funk event. 
For the last five years (2004-2009) Dj Vanish showed up on many big events, like "GLobal Warming" and "Techo Happy (Official KaZantip Preparty 2009)", playing on the same scene with LADY WAKS (IBWT, RU), DUEL CALIBRE (BROKE, UK), DaVIP (SUBTRIBE, RU), CHRIS SU (HUNGARY), SKC, BAD COMPANY (UK),TREI (NZ), SUBWAVE (METALHEADZ, RU), TIMO CAMILLO (PROTON RADIO, RU); participating as a guest in radio shows, like FUTURE BEATS (ECMFM), TEA DROPS (PROTON RADIO), BREAKBEAT SELECTA (A PLUS), KULTURA BREAKZ SHOW (iBREAKS). 
2007. Detach and some like-minded friends made their own breaks promo-group "Painkillaz" to promote Breakbeat music in his region – events, like HOT STUFF, BASS IMPACT, PURE PLAY with special guests Duel Calibre, Lady Waks and DaVIP. After signing contract with El Tempo Club, Painkillaz promo-group makes many more than just good parties. 
2008. Detach with his old friend BREAKZHEAD from hip-hop culture found record label SUBTRIBE RECORDS. The general idea of the label is to release high-quality breakbeat music by producers from all over the world. 
2009. First release called "Paranoid" (featuring BreakZhead) is out on Subtribe Records.

2011. First solo release called "Megatune" (incl. remixes by Winter Face & Fx Projekt)

In a land ravaged by war, generic bass wobbles and minimal techno, comes the story of two men. One with a deep-seated history in Drum and Bass and break beat music, the other, an extensive knowledge of the psychedelic trance realm. Born from bass and bred to party, the two have combined their forces to create an unstoppable mutating musical barrage of ballsy ballistic broken beats to scourge this generic foe and bring back all things phat, chunky and relentless. In their career defining roles, Tristan Rogers and Scott Neale are… Broken Xpressionz!
