Happy New Year from our Katun Tribe! Our first release for 2024 is by one of our label bosses @diass_music. In his own words, Diass describes this composition as not a typical club track. Named after the ancient Thracian tribes in Bulgaria, ‘Traki’ begins with a haunting, ethereal atmosphere, created by the soulful tones of the kaval, a wooden flute-like instrument, weaving intricate patterns that evoke a sense of ancient mysticism. Layered beneath the melodic phrases, organic percussion instruments create a rhythmic heartbeat, grounding the composition with their earthy, primal tones. As the track progresses, mystical vocals emerge, their haunting timbres echoing ancient chants and folklore.
Throughout the piece, the synergy between the Bulgarian instruments, organic percussion, and ancient vocals creates a captivating sonic landscape, inviting the listener on a mesmerizing journey through the rich tapestry of Bulgarian musical heritage.

Bulgarian DJ and producer Diass started playing music at the early age of 12. It was this exposure at a young age, which defined his passion and shaped the music he writes today. Diass is one of the few Bulgarian DJs with music education – he has more than 6 years of studying producing, sound and studio engineering.  
Diass has found his unique sound and interpretation on the electronic music scene. He has spent the past 10 years pushing his sound direct from his studio in Sofia to dance floors all around the world. Repeatedly proven his skills behind the CDJs in every notable club and warehouse space in Bulgaria and has toured extensively abroad throughout the last few years, having gigs in Ibiza, London, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Cairo and Moscow. Diass has already produced three albums - "Party Beach" (2011), "Welcome to Bulgaria" (2013) and "Reset the World" (2015), the last one being released under the world famous 303Lovers imprint. During the years, Diass has been working on collaborations with some of the best Bulgarian vocal performers and has been sharing decks with top artists such as Damian Lazarus, Satori, Jamie Jones, Faithless, Be Svendsen, Unders, Paco Osuna, Serge Devant, Blond:Ish, Hot Since 82 and many more.  
Diass represents a wide variation of sounds across the spectrum from Nu 
Disco / Indie Dance and Electronica/Downtempo to Organic House / Melodic Techno. Artistically innovative and yet easily accessible – Diass` music selection and individual sounding boosts the party fever in your veins. His works have been signed to major labels including: Sol Selectas,  Scorpios Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Bercana Music and many others. During the years, all of Diass’s releases had entered Beatport’s Organic House Top 100 Chart. In 2021, Diass becomes a resident DJ at Scorpios & Noema in Mykonos. This year he is back for another season on the Greek island. 

In May 2022, Diass has launched his own music label KATUN, in co-ownership with Dimo BG & Mr. K – three leading figures at the music scene in Bulgaria, united by their passion for creating, sharing and promoting beautiful and quality electronic music. KATUN Tribe brings together a recording label, event concept and community of like-minded people, who loves storytelling through music.
