Sol Selectas embarks on its sixth annual summer voyage to present the much anticipated Summer Sol VI compilation.

Blending organic sounds and traditional instruments with electronic textures and trippy synth lines, this eclectic release spans from downtempo electronica to atmospheric deep house with a melodic groove.

Each year Sabo collects the finest tracks he can find from across the world and releases them on the day of the summer solstice, which is the year’s longest day of sunlight.

With a tight knit family built around the label, Summer Sol is also a welcoming party for many of the artists who are joining the community. Those making their Sol Selectas debut this year includes the likes of DJ Chus, Balam, La Payara, The Scumfrog, KÖNI, and Depart.

It also welcomes back familiar faces such as Dandara, Amine K, Giovanny Aparacio, Mula, Amentia, Chambord and Sabo himself as the party host.

Under the sun's rays we are all equal, regardless of skin colour, gender or sexuality, and this release is a celebration of the music that overcomes diversity to bring people together.

Each of the tracks have their own story and is a little ray of sunshine to warm the mind, body and soul. This year’s release features tracks with roots in Mexico, USA, Spain, Mali, Turkey, Colombia, France, Argentina, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Ukraine, Chile, Netherlands, UAE, Switzerland, Belgium, Hungary, Armenia, and Australia.

Separately each of the artists on this EP has featured on other labels such as Get Physical, Bar 25 Music, Akbal Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Pipe & Pochet, Magician On Duty, A Tribe Called Kotori, 3000 Grad Records and many others of equal note.

The music drifts from coast to coast, across several mountain ranges, deserts dunes, and salty oceans, spanning years of generational influences. The tempos, melodies, and rhythmic combinations take us from chill out, to groove, tribal, afro, and to deep. We hope this music inspires, and carries you on a worldwide tour.

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us to a parallel dimension lit by the frequencies and energy of the SOL.

We are starting the new year with a very special guest.

Jordi Giménez was born in Barcelona and currently lives in Sitges. His DJ experience goes back to 1994 and he immediately came under the influence of the sounds that defined Eastern Spain in those days.
Throughout his journey, Jordi has experimented with a wide range of genres. He dabbled with the “harder” sounds of the mid- to late-90’s, then evolved through trance, techno and tech house before arriving at today’s progressive sounds. The style that most influenced him was early 2000’s trance.

In addition to his long track record as a DJ, Jordi was also a key collaborator in one of the most prestigious electronic music radio shows out of Valencia, MDT (La Máquina del Tiempo). His sets were broadcast all across Spain multiple times.

Jordi’s style is instantly recognizable. When creating and mixing a set, his dynamic transitions, fader play and blend of genres and styles to create stories and musical narratives all combine into a unique signature sound.

More recently, Jordi won the 2020 World Championship of Progressive House DJ’s, which has raised his global visibility.

He currently plays in the broader range of progressive house and melodic techno. His sessions leave no one indifferent. This one he prepared for Ottawa Prog Vibes is a memorable one, check it out.

Bulgarian DJ and producer Diass started playing music at the early age of 12. It was this exposure at a young age, which defined his passion and shaped the music he writes today. Diass is one of the few Bulgarian DJs with music education – he has more than 6 years of studying producing, sound and studio engineering.  
Diass has found his unique sound and interpretation on the electronic music scene. He has spent the past 10 years pushing his sound direct from his studio in Sofia to dance floors all around the world. Repeatedly proven his skills behind the CDJs in every notable club and warehouse space in Bulgaria and has toured extensively abroad throughout the last few years, having gigs in Ibiza, London, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Cairo and Moscow. Diass has already produced three albums - "Party Beach" (2011), "Welcome to Bulgaria" (2013) and "Reset the World" (2015), the last one being released under the world famous 303Lovers imprint. During the years, Diass has been working on collaborations with some of the best Bulgarian vocal performers and has been sharing decks with top artists such as Damian Lazarus, Satori, Jamie Jones, Faithless, Be Svendsen, Unders, Paco Osuna, Serge Devant, Blond:Ish, Hot Since 82 and many more.  
Diass represents a wide variation of sounds across the spectrum from Nu Disco / Indie Dance and Electronica/Downtempo to Organic House / Melodic Techno. Artistically innovative and yet easily accessible – Diass` music selection and individual sounding boosts the party fever in your veins. His works have been signed to major labels including: Sol Selectas,  Scorpios Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Bercana Music and many others. During the years, all of Diass’s releases had entered Beatport’s Organic House Top 100 Chart. In 2021, Diass becomes a resident DJ at Scorpios & Noema in Mykonos. This year he is back for another season on the Greek island. 

In May 2022, Diass has launched his own music label KATUN, in co-ownership with Dimo BG & Mr. K – three leading figures at the music scene in Bulgaria, united by their passion for creating, sharing and promoting beautiful and quality electronic music. KATUN Tribe brings together a recording label, event concept and community of like-minded people, who loves storytelling through music.
