Every so often a new name bursts on to the scene, always passionate and dedicated in their quest to reach the higher realms of dance music. In this case that name is Dillon Dean, an uplifting vocal progressive / tech house DJ from Belfast, Northern Ireland. With his childhood soundtrack being house, old-skool and other 90’s electronic influences, it's no great surprise that this young hopeful would find his way onto the dance scene.
Yes it's a cliché, but 'up and coming' is the best way to describe Dillon as he climbs the ranks, standing out from his age group and impressing his peers with a mature DJ sound and skill set. His first taste of DJ'ing to a crowd was playing at various parties and private functions, and then it was on to the club gigs where Dillon is at his happiest, making people dance to the music that he loves.
Before long Dillon was offered a Saturday night residency in a well-known, local nightclub. As a young Saturday night resident, he was learning his craft in front of a packed dance floor week in, week out. It was no surprise that tongues started wagging in public and other performers around the scene were noticing this new DJ making waves.
Dillon's confidence grew and he decided to put the emphasis on making music which he knew would further his chances of becoming more of an artist than just another DJ on the local circuit. He enrolled to study for two years in Music Technology and the college noticed early on that they had an impressive talent on their hands, asking Dillon to represent them at the regional music finals where he came first. Guest slotting on local radio stations and in some of the country’s top nightclubs has been a regular occurrence, not to mention supporting international superstar DJ's.
With the next stage of his development being studio focused, and with his hunger to learn more skills, Dillon is a young, passionate talent, who has the drive to push forward as he continues to impress as one of the most exciting talents to emerge in Northern Ireland in recent years.
