Born in Jordan, raised in the working class suburbs of Perth, Australia, singer Randa Khamis caught the black music bug early. At the age of 12 she was talking her way into local clubs, desperate to dance to the sounds of James Brown, Parliament, Kurtis Blow, Ann Sexton and Aretha Franklin. Totally entranced by the music she heard, Randa decided then in her early teens that she could, would, and must become a soul singer

During her 20's, Randa lived in London and sung with Kinobe who were about to release a single with her. It was then that she also joined Sasha Baron Cohens' brother's band 'Zohar' singing in Arabic. But it was with Leigh Gracie's deep funk band 'Speedometer' that she spent much of her time singing, and after supporting the legend Eddie Bo, began touring with him in New Orleans, where he passed on his vast musical knowledge about performance and song writing. With this priceless experience under her belt, she returned to Perth, ready to harness her writing and recording experiences with her new band 'Randa & The Soul Kingdom'

With The Bamboos producer Lance Ferguson at the controls, the resulting album absolutely bristles with edgy, gritty funk and soul. From the up tempo opener 'Feel It In Your Soul' right through the entire collection, Randa's high octane vocals urge, push and provoke, none more so that on the killer 45 'Not Gonna Let You' (FSR7055) on which the blast of soulful horns will knock you sideways ... be warned!

Before my next mix of newer material I wanted to make the first in a series of Classics mixes. These are the breaks that I remember being played all the time in the early 2000's. Some of them are straight up bboy anthems. Leacy, Dadeo, Geometrix and local radio DJ's had a big impact on what I play in this mix. To me, these sounds were everywhere and I wanted to bring that vibe back for the newer generation who might not know these breaks as well. Thank you to everyone who's supported me and believed in me. 01. Nomork - Bang!

I'm primarily looking at bboy beats/mixes/sets to use for my solo practices, but also to keep a record of all the music that's out there. Breakbeats, House, Hip Hop, Electro; All music considered.

DJ DISCOKING, born in July, 1979.
He first encountered hiphop culture in 1993, and quickly got hooked on breaking, graffiti, and rap. He also likes skate culture and playing kendama, but what he loves most is  collecting vinyl records and cassette tapes. In New York, 2004, he founded the international Dragon Diggers DJ crew along with NERY, and he has been living the DJ life ever since. As one of the veteran B-boy DJ's in Mainland China, and as the first Chinese B-boy & battle DJ to spin abroad, he's been a big influence in the scene, appearing in more street culture events than any other. This first-generation Chinese DJ is an OG and gets VIP treatment from many popular groups, especially at large music events. With a unique style, and many years of experience, he only creates new and original material, never copying or biting others' art. In 2006 he founded 163Culture, a team that promotes street culture and organizes various events to share the true essence of hiphop and  to encourage up-and-coming new talents.
