Raised in the Bay Area on a steady diet of James Brown, Talking Heads, Grace Jones, and Joao Gilberto, MONĒT MIKE aka DJ DIVERSIFY is on a lifelong quest for sonic Darwinism. In 1998, he started DJing and making beats, two obsessions that he continues to this day. After years of thrift-store record digging, paying dues, and hours of honing his craft, he joined the Beatsauce (with J-Boogie, Raw B and Wisdom) in 2000, a legendary underground Hip-Hop show that aired on KUSF for 16 years. There he had the privilege to share air/stage time with Hip-Hop icons like Gza (Wu-Tang), Gang Starr, Smif-N-Wessun, Jurassic 5, Saul Williams and many more.

From 2002-2017 he taught music production and DJing at the Urban Music Program in San Francisco, which has led to numerous high profile performances in locations ranging from San Francisco's City Hall to The California Academy of Sciences. In 2007, Michael and Jon Bernson started 'Exray's' (a Lo-fi Sci-Fi pop band), which has led to numerous albums, tours and performances with some of today's most futuristic music makers, including LCD Sound System, tUnE-yArDs, Toro Y Moi, Nite Jewel, Braids and Matthew Dear, to name a few. Exray's is also known for their song in David Fincher's blockbuster movie, The Social Network as well as the ongoing Vessel XII Project, which has taken their music into the realms of science fiction and multimedia art.
